Hidden gem - free quest room! Quest: buy a Bahncard and a ticket for 6 year old. Level 1 (preparation): as experienced Berliner I already knew, that BVG travel center will not help me with DB tickets and there is not so much help oncthe navigation signs, so I asked my wife in advance, if she knows where to go to. She told me that there is a place with S-Bahn logo. S-Bahn is normally affected by the DB strikes, so I felt like it's the right place to start with!
Level 2 (S-Bahn info): senior gentleman was lying in the armchair and enjoying rest of his breakfast heavily chewing. On our 3rd attempt (I'll take it as a compliment to my wife's German level) he understood the query and tried to tell us to go to somewhere else as they don't sell tickets (he had to repeat only twice, I bet if he stopped chewing and leaned forward a bit instead of lying we would get it from the 1st!).
Level 3 (DB info): gentleman informed us that it's info only, and kindly referred us to the 3rd place
Level 4 (DB travel center): hoorah, final boss is here! 3 windows, no indication if they are different, so we go to the window 1 and ask for ticket to the desired destination. Gentleman kindly referred us to Window 3. Luckily Window 3 is already free and I ask for the ticket. Gentleman kindly asks me to come back to the Window 1. Hurrah, I'll take it as a definite evidence that my oral German is more advanced than my wife's. We ask for a ticket and a DB card. Gentleman seems to be seriously puzzled that someone wants to buy a DB card for a 6 year old and tries to attack: but then you need his ID! Haha, he clearly underestimates my preparation level: I gladly show the ID. But now it's obvious that this was a well prepared trap (my respect to the script crew!), he kills me with the news: but setting up the DB card account will take a lot of time, you will miss your train (in 10 minutes). Damn it, I need to admit my defeat. We are buying full price ticket (losing 50% of the DB card price as missed discount) and going to the...
Read moreI wish to bring to your attention an incident that occurred on January 13, 2023, at approximately 01:50 AM at Alexanderplatz hbf. My party and I found ourselves in need of restroom facilities, only to discover that they were closed for cleaning.
What compounded our inconvenience was the lack of assistance from the cleaning staff present. We attempted to communicate with the staff member, inquiring about alternative restroom options. Regrettably, the worker did not respond or offer any guidance, leaving us in a difficult and uncomfortable situation.
I understand the necessity of maintaining cleanliness in public facilities, but I believe it is equally important to assist patrons, especially during such closures. I kindly request that you review this incident with your staff and implement measures to ensure that visitors are provided with clear information and assistance, particularly when facilities are temporarily unavailable.
Your attention to improving customer service in this regard would be greatly...
Read moreI recently visited this bustling traffic junction in Berlin, and it's an absolute must-see! It's a hub for various modes of transportation, including the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, Regional trains, trams, and buses, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city.
The atmosphere is vibrant and lively, with people from all walks of life – Berliners, foreigners, tourists, rich, and poor – coming together. It's a great place to mingle and experience the diverse culture of the city.
Don't miss the opportunity to see the tallest television tower in the area, although the entry fee can be a bit costly. The panoramic views are worth it! You can also capture some fantastic shots of the world clock and the beautiful water fountain nearby.
In summary, if you're in Berlin, this place is a definite must-visit. You'll get a taste of the city's energy and have some memorable...
