An extremely fascinating place to visit. All displays in the Körperwelten Body Worlds are from real specimens, chemically treated and frozen in time in resin to preserve everything that you see in this exhibition. Even though Body Worlds Exhibition can be found world-wide, if you've never been to a Body World Exhibition then take the time to visit it in Berlin. The information provided is in both German and English, including audio options. Everything in this exhibition is educational, for children (although a young child could be frightened by the concept of this exhibition and what is on display) and adults alike. The displays are mostly visual, with some audio and interactive displays as well. Entry fees are not steep, and it is definitely worth the experience in the exhibition. The idea of the concept may seem off putting, but it isn't as appalling as some may imagine. If anything, you'll probably be more fascinated by what you will learn and see. Set aside at least 2 to 3 hours for this exhibition, all of which depending on how eager you are to absorb, read and learn about the information provided.

Unser Besuch im Menschenmuseum Berlin erfolgte am 5. April um ca. 11 Uhr. Die Tickets hatten wir einige Tage zuvor online erworben, weshalb auch der Einlass problemlos und zügig vonstatten ging. Auch der Preis von 14€ für ein Erwachsenenticket erscheint mir für das Gebotene mehr als gerechtfertigt. Wenn man an der Materie interessiert ist, bekommt man hier sehr viel Interessantes und teilweise fast Künstlerisches zu sehen und kann so gut und gerne 2 oder mehr Stunden verbringen, ohne dass es langweilig wird. Wer gern fotografiert kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Das Anfertigen von Fotos ist gestattet, jedoch ist zu beachten, dass kein Blitz verwendet werden darf. Taschen und Rucksäcke dürfen nicht mit in die Ausstellungsräume genommen werden. Hierfür werden Schließfächer im Eingangsbereich angeboten. Die Nutzung dieses Services kostet jedoch bis zu 2€ für die größeren Fächer. Leider wurden einige Exponate aufgrund von Auflagen übergeordneter Instanzen zensiert und in Goldfolie eingewickelt. Ein Umstand, der nicht dem Betreiber geschuldet, aber dennoch ärgerlich ist. Auch die Gründe für diese Zensur scheinen nicht wirklich ersichtlich und willkürlich. So darf ein „Akrobat“, welcher Turnübungen an Ringen durchführt, nicht gezeigt werden. Die Darstellung eines Anglers, welcher in Einzelteilen an Angelsehnen aufgehängt ist, ist jedoch in Ordnung. Die Zensur des letztgenannten Exponats hätte ich noch eher nachvollziehen können, da diese Darstellung durchaus etwas zynisch und pervers erscheint und an eine Szene aus der Serie Hannibal erinnert. Ebenfalls interessant ist, dass die Beschreibungstafeln der Objekte, auf welchen diese auch fotografisch abgebildet sind, weiterhin unverhüllt aufgestellt sein dürfen. Alles in Allem vergebe ich 5 Sterne für einen wirklich sehr interessanten und lehrreichen Aufenthalt.

Very interesting museum with real bodies and a clear, telling story about the functionalities of the body, from the inside and outside. Makes you understand appreciate your body. Get the free audioguide for a tour, which is way more interesting than just reading the cards in the displays. The audio is available in German and English. Would not really recommend the place for kids though. You are required to leave bags in lockers (1or 2 euros depending on the size). Venue is small and therefore a bit on the pricier side. Temporary animal exhibition is beautifully done, but felt lost amidst the other bodies

Fascinating! The displays are presented clearly with writing in German and English. There are a few interactive displays as well, but really the presentation of the various anatomy systems is interesting enough. Kids would enjoy it, but only for a short period of time since there is a lot of reading, so for the price of entry I’m not sure it would be worth it if your group consists mostly of children.

a true paradise of enlightenment! So much information, so morally thought out and wonderfully free of religious whining or political correctness. My kid was delighted and can now recognize any body parts from a distance. It was particularly enlightening to see my kind of fully saturated liver as an exhibit in a museum. A must for the homo sapiens- a Disneyland for the Neanderthals.

It is a place, where you can discover a lot of new things about you body. There you will be able to see various models of a real human body with your own eyes, see interesting videos about several diseases and interact with fascinating technologies. But I think, that you shouldn't bring with you little kids till 13 years, because some models were not for the young audience.
