TheCoven Bar — Restaurant in Berlin

I understand that POC are minority in Berlin, but for a bar that describes itself as inclusive, the patrons are anything but accommodating. There is an air in this establishment that screams people of color are not welcome, from the selective service to the ugly stares and the horrible treatment from the patrons. The space is quite tight and people shove you with no respect, If you are BLACK please save yourself the dignity and skip this modern day “whites only” bar.

UPDATE: This bar owner has proceeded to invalidate MY EXPERIENCE by delegating his “BLACK” partner to respond to me. The unhinged nuance of their response to further gaslight my truth is mind boggling. True to your advice, i raise you one “brother”….your partner and this establishment should look introspectively and ask what it is that you lot are doing wrong. You do not know me to reach the conclusion you drew. I still reiterate that this BAR is a modern day “whites only” establishment and BLACK people should take their BLACK coins to places they are at least respected. Wow what an amazing way to spend one of our last nights in Berlin!!! TheCoven bar is a really special place. When we got in there were just a few people in the place and we got the chance to take in the cool, dark but inviting atmosphere. We also got to chat with the amazing bartender tonight Tom who completely added to the inviting feel! This didn't last long as the place was quickly packed with locals, tourists, men and women. This did nothing however to change the great atmosphere. The place was packed but still very chill. The music was upbeat but understated. Nice bar with a cozy atmosphere.. HOWEVER a bartender caused a big mess yesterday. After pouring my drink on me (which can happen of course), I just said 'hey chill" with a friendly tone. However he misunderstood and tried to insult us upon warning him. He was more than impolite, frustrated and tried to threaten us for no reason. He didn't have the adequate tone with speaking with a customer and moreover working with stress. Such a pity that our first visit ended up in poor service and negative attitude (just because of this specific bartender which was a little bit molly and had a beard.
