Restaurant Olive — Restaurant in Bonn

This restaurant was close to our hotel and I was in the mood for something different than German food so we tried this Greek restaurant the server, a young man from Albania was lovely. He could speak English, and he was very helpful. I had the Dorada whole fish. It was good came with potatoes and a salad. I was surprised at the salad. I thought it would be a Greek salad since I was in a Greek restaurant, but it wasn’t also had the Greek pasta also had a spinach pie, which was just OK they gave us a complementary starter, which was just a little bit of noodles and at the end they gave us something. I think it was some kind of a hummus thing. Couldn’t understand what he said. We also had a English menu and the English menu it said that the wine was €2.10 and when the bill came, it was six euros because he said that was an old menu well fix the menu. !!!Don’t give me a customer menu and now tell me my wine is more. I don’t know if I would’ve ordered it. I only drank a little bit of it, but that was my own fault. I paid it no problem, but I think the menu should be updated. If you’re gonna give it to people and they expect that price to be correct !!indoor...

This is honestly the best restaurant in Bonn to have greek food!!!

I visited this restaurant literally at the opening hour. There was an uncle there and he was just very kind.

We ordered two glasses of wine and had Sutzukakia and Garides mit olivenol. He gave us a chicken vermicelli soup which we hadn’t ordered, and that literally tasted the best. The shrimps in the butter bath was just exquisite. The mix of butter and herbs was absolutely delicious. And the meatballs, oh my god, I’ve never had anything more delicious than those meatballs.

An amazing place for food and the best service. Even though there was a language barrier, the uncle was very welcoming and helped us understand the menu. I couldn’t stop gushing about...

Innerhalb von wenigen Wochen war ich dreimal zu verschiedenen Gelegenheiten in der Olive. Zweimal habe ich ein Abendessen zu vier Personen, einmal ein Menü für 18 Personen mitgemacht. Grund genug, jetzt mal eine Bewertung abzugeben.

Das Restaurant liegt ein klein wenig versteckt neben der St. Remigius-Kirche in der Bonner Fußgängerzone. Wer das Restaurant besuchen möchte, dem sei eine Reservierung empfohlen, da das Restaurant ziemlich frequentiert ist und nur mäßig vielen Leuten Platz bietet. Eine Anreise mit Bus ist leicht möglich (Haltestelle Markt oder Brüdergasse/Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz, wo viele Linien halten). Mit dem Auto dürfte es am besten in der Marktplatzgarage oder der Operngarage sein. Öffentliche Parkplätze gibt es kaum.

Das Innere des Restaurants ist ganz gemütlich, rustikal, griechisch. Das Personal macht den Anschein eines Familienbetriebs. Das wirkt sich positiv auf die Motivation in der Bedienung aus. Vor allem der mutmaßliche Chef bei der Bedienung ist ein Tausendsassa und man merkt, wie sehr ihm die Zufriedenheit der Gäste am Herzen liegt. Bei unserer Feier mit 18 Personen hat er sich förmlich zerrissen.

Die Fleischgerichte sind mir in besonders guter Erinnerung geblieben, aber auch die Dorade war sehr gut. Ein vegetarisches Gericht habe ich bisher dort noch nicht probiert. Das Fleisch war sehr zart und schmackhaft zubereitet. Auch das beiliegende Gemüse und der der Salat waren sehr gut. Mit hat insbesondere der Krautsalat zugesagt. Wenn es Abstriche geben soll, dann allenfalls beim Nachtisch. Hier könnte auch dies Auswahl etwas größer sein.

Das überaus freundliche Personal macht den Restaurant-Besuch zu einem griechischen Abend. Das gute Essen tut sein Übriges. Ich kann das Lokal...
