I cannot overstate how much one single member of staff destroyed what should have been a great night. We’ve been coming here regularly during our theatre run, happily spending good money and enjoying the place - until tonight. The barman with the full beard made our experience absolutely AWFUL.
We simply asked to pay our bill individually - something we’ve done here before without issue - and instead of handling it like a professional, he snapped at us, raised his voice, and flat-out refused. No explanation, no attempt to help, just aggressive, unnecessary attitude. It was humiliating and made us feel like we were being treated as shady customers trying to get out of paying, which is ridiculous given how often we’ve been here.
Thanks to him, the whole night soured. The tension he created lingered long after the interaction. The ONLY saving grace was the young woman on shift who stepped in, smiled, and sorted it out instantly - proving this was 100% about his attitude, not the system.
This one barman is an active liability to your business. His hostility, lack of basic manners, and inability to deal with customers respectfully make me never want to set foot in here again. He needs serious customer service and anger management training - or better yet, a new career far away from...
Read moreWent here to wash down the revolting kebab we had, spitting distance from the hotel and one of the few bars open last midnight this side of town on a weeknight.
Met with a warm welcome, spoke butchered German to each other and got Zwei Guinness bitte. As we were waiting there was a stag group in there who were sat in a group of five that became ten that became fifteen and at that point the manager told them to go away.
It takes some confidence to tell a clearly intoxicated group with priors to leave, but the way they behaved on the way out shows just how right he was to get rid of them.
Frankfurt is largely ruined by stags in small pockets, much like Krakow, Budapest and other European cities the best man books it with no thought or knowing where is actually good to go so they gravitate to these bars and feel like they can smash everything and fix nothing.
A nice Guinness though, lovely service (for us) and fun to see the same distaste for poorly behaved, embarrassing stags abroad is pretty...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at this Irish pub in Cologne was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it. When we arrived, the place was completely empty so you’d expect the staff to be pleased to see customers. Instead, the barman (with the beard) was shockingly rude and dismissive from the very start.
When my mother tried to make light conversation by commenting on the warm weather, he responded with a cold and sarcastic “is it now.” She then politely asked about the toilets, only to be met with an equally unfriendly and abrupt reply. His behaviour was not just unwelcoming, but downright ignorant, and it immediately ruined any sense of comfort or hospitality we might have expected from an Irish pub.
The whole interaction left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, and it soured the entire experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this pub, and I certainly will not...
