Söckchen Altstadtkneipe — Restaurant in Cologne

It is a small interesting restaurant with a nice staff. They offer just a small variety of dishes suited mainly for a small level of hunger. The location itself is great. It's only a few meters away from the coast of the river which means a certain chill atmosphere of the riverside and a great view. The music is fine with a seemingly personal mix of rock and pop music in an enjoyable level of volume. Prices are good, considering the actual location the even appear on the lower side. They also serve some cocktails and other beverages which are in comparison cheaper than usual.

I definitely recommend it for people looking for a small lunch or dinner or wants to enjoy a few drinks...

We dropped by here on our short pub crawl around the old town of Cologne on Father's Day evening recently. This is very much a great example of an old style "Kneipe" in the Altstadt. All a bit rough and ready with loud music and plenty of Stangen of 0.2l freshly pulled Kölsch beer. The bar lady, originally from Morocco we believe, was on good form and made sure that we were kept supplied with beer.
