BulGogi BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

My friends had an unexpected experience at this restaurant. After sitting down and reviewing the menu, they decided to leave without ordering. However, a male staff member with long hair seemed displeased and expressed dissatisfaction. By the way, they were charged €2 for using the restroom (which was not clearly indicated anywhere and only payable in cash). Really funny.

Don’t you agree that a restaurant should allow customers to make their own dining choices without feeling pressured. Fortunately, there are many other great restaurants in this area that provide a more welcoming atmosphere.

First of all, at no points in my review did I mention “dumb” or any offensive expressions to the staff. I want to emphasize and clarify that my comments were 100% pointing at the service experience but not personal insults. Interpreting my comments as an attack on your staff, which was never my intention, is not only an overreaction, but also ignoring my proposition and dissatisfaction.

Regarding the restroom charge, the issue was not the fee itself, but the fact that it was not clearly indicated anywhere and only payable in cash, which is hard to understand that this happens in a pleasant restaurant. My friends did not get any reasonable explanation about why it must be paid by cash at that time. These details matter and affect the guest experience very much. I really appreciate it if you can get my points.

Additionally, I have another small concern. When my friends decided to choose another restaurant, which is 100% the reasonable right of any customers, they felt sudden cold and unfriendly attitude. I do not have more words if you assume and insist they are emotional and subjective. I am unable to judge the real intentions, but I cannot help relating their Asian identity to this unpleasant experience. I really really hope this could never happen in customers from other countries and I hope this is a misunderstanding.

Amazing Korean BBQ restaurant with high quality meats, amazing service, and a fun atmosphere. We spent a wonderful evening BBQing a variety of delicious meats and sampling different vegetables and kimchis to pair with it.

The staff explained everything in detail and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. I can highly recommend BulGogi BBQ for a great evening!

Tip: The portions of meat on the platters are generous, so unless you are very hungry I'd recommend sharing one between two people. The restaurant automatically charges a fee for the additional person so that they can enjoy the buffet of vegetables, kimchi, and rice that comes with the platter for the first person.
