I had dinner here on June 8th 2025. The place is nice and the food was ok, I would have given it 4 stars overall but the service bumped it down.
I was visiting Frankfurt as a tourist and went to this restaurant based on its google reviews. The waitress that took our order was not welcoming at all, I asked her some questions about the menu (again, Iâm a tourist) and she seemed annoyed and just wanted me to place my order quickly, at some point I asked her about a particular ingredient and she literally said âI donât know, just use google translateâ. Now, I understand that thereâs a language barrier and their language is German and not English but thatâs not how you treat a customer, specially considering this restaurant is located in the Römer area, which is a tourist heavy area, so you should expect English speaking customers and at least provide the best possible service, and if you really donât know the answer to something, ask another member of the staff, pull out your phone and show the customer a photo, anything that shows that you care and are willing to help the customer and make them feel welcome even if there are language barriers.
Anyway we got our food which was ok, nothing really to write home about but it was fine, the spaetzle was tasty to be fair. We were like 10 minutes away from finishing our meal and the waitress came to our table and told us that her shift was about to end and that she needed to get the payment, I told her that was fine (I was fed up at this point) and payed the bill. As I was going through the flow in the card reader she had the nerve to ask me how much tip I wanted to leave, the card reader showed options from 6 to 20%, I told her I didnât want to leave any tip and completed my payment. This is the first time in a restaurant that Iâm asked to pay my bill before Iâm done eating, it felt like they were rushing me to leave and she could have just finished her shift and had the manager or someone else charging me later, I guess she wanted to do it herself to try to collect that tip. I donât know what her name was, she was the waitress with black curly hair and thick black glasses.
So this was my experience which would have been just fine if I didnât get such terrible service. I would not return to this place or recommend it to anyone based on...
Read moreWe went around afternoon on 10th of July. Food was good, place too. However I was kinda disappointed of the service. My wife and I ordered only food, not anything to drink, we only had half filled small bottle of water left in my bag, and at the end of the meal we just shared it. Right after I paid, waiter asked us where we came from and said âis it normal where you came from to drink your own water, here you have to order.â I was really confused and disappointed of the service
I understand there are certain policies in restaurants, but no establishment should treat customers like this, especially for small amount of water...
