bona'me — Restaurant in Hamburg

One of the finest restaurants in town. The food and taste was good. The price was quite a budget friendly for the places like this, and the atmosphere was very nice and clean. Overall the place is great.

About the food from the attached picture, here's the order details and reviews individually, I ordered the following: ŞİŞ KEBAP (Black Angus skewer on spinach bulgur & herb quark), TAVUKLU SALATA (Salad with chicken breast strips), EXTRA COFFEES (Meatballs), BEYAZ PEYNİRLİ PİDE (Pide with white cheese & mozzarella), SÜTLAÇ (Rice pudding from the oven), and POMEGRANATE SHERBET (Pomegranate Rose Shrub).

Now the reviews about these dishes: ŞİŞ KEBAP was tasty but average tasty and I could rate it as 7.5/10. TAVUKLU SALATA (with chicken), 7.5/10 for the presentation, but for the taste it would be 6.5/10. EXTRA COFFEES (Meatballs), that was the best and eventually ordered two more of them and I'd rate them as 8.5/10. BEYAZ PEYNİRLİ PİDE, average taste, so I'd recommend to order other dish because you find good pide at other places too. 6/10. SÜTLAÇ, indeed another best thing and ordered couple of more for the family and it deserves the rating of 9/10 I guess. POMEGRANATE SHERBET, I didn't like it at first but maybe that was because I was expecting a different taste like a tetra-pack juice or maybe I didn't mix it initially, but after some time it developed the taste and I really enjoyed the sherbet 8/10.

I hope this review helps others who are looking for recommendations what to order. But this is just my own opinion you might want to try and experience yourself for the stuff of your choice. Enjoy!

I think it’s a nice place. Service could be better. Had no clue how Service and order is working. After sitting for a while, I simply asked other customers. A simple question at the entrance to check with customers if they had been here before and know the order process would be a big plus. Anyways: ordering via iPads that are e.g. fixed at the bar area. Afterwards scanning some RFID tag that are located in small baskets nearby and finally fetching your own order once your RFID tag alerts you.

And yes, I understand, could have informed myself beforehand and stupidly assumed it is a normal restaurant with table service. So that fault goes on me. However other customers faced the same issue. I passed on the new learned knowledge to several other customer groups and had the impression they had the same conclusions about the lack of service. I highly recommend Bona'me for their very large portions of delicious food. I suggest ordering just one dish from the menu, as we made a huge mistake by ordering too much and couldn't finish it all, but we were able to take the leftovers with us. The food at Bona'me is very tasty and filling, with large portions and an interesting format for their restaurant which allows for quick preparation. The Şiş Kebap and Black Angus - Spiess were both delicious and juicy, while the Beyti was very flavorful and moist. The Karişik Meze is a great appetizer for two people, and if you love Turkish soup, I highly recommend trying the Mercimek Çorbası. For a satisfying and delicious meal, I recommend the Köfteli Çiftlik Saç. Additionally, the Bona'me® Frühstück is a very filling and tasty breakfast option.
