Liquid Garden - Cocktailbar — Restaurant in Hamburg

It is hard to describe what this bar is. It is the best bar I have ever been to. So let’s begin.

Liquid Garden is the definition of good service. They give you the feeling that you matter. Your power as a customer matters. Your presence matters and they do everything in their power to fulfill your wishes. They are incredibly attentive, so you always feel recognized. You get glasses of free tap water which they always fill back up once it’s empty. I have experienced that in maximum 3 bars, this one being the only one in Germany.

But not only that. The atmosphere is amazing. Liquid Garden has the perfect balance between enough and well-placed seats and a room size that your wishes and orders will always be noticed. The lighting is perfect, especially in the evening hours. It has such a calming, yet elegant vibe. Perfectly fitting. In summer, there are tables outside, so that the place feels open and welcoming.

The best part are the cocktails though. I have had my best Moscow Mule, Old Fashioned and Cosmopolitan in this bar. They choose excellent alcohol and only the best from the best ingredients to assure that everything is done right. The quality is on a different level good. I cannot think of bar that serves drinks with quality like this. It outshines every bar that thinks highly of its cocktails. Furthermore, they have a great selection of whiskey, gin, rum and tequila that you can order pure as well. Of course, it is not the cheapest bar, but the prices are more than fair. This bar is enjoyment and no “fast-drink-experience”. Keep that in mind when you go.

So, there is no single point of critique. I grew up in Hamburg and I am so proud and thankful to have a bar like this in my hometown. Whenever I come back to visit, I try to have at least one drink. Visited Liquid Garden on 5th Jan 2024. Arrived around 7pm and the place was pretty packed already but they managed to find me a place at the bar. It was great to watch the barmen in action. They had one new guy in training so at times the action at the bar was a bit chaotic, not sure if all the drinks going out were up to the expected standard that night :) They have an interesting concept of flavors around the world. The barman explained their concept and was helpful making suggestions based on my preferences. I ended up having Prince of Mumbai. It was a decent drink, maybe I expected a bit more spiciness (could not really taste black pepper) but overall not bad at all. I quite liked the interior and lighting of the bar. Bin gestern durch Zufall mit meinem Bruder da gelandet und es war keine falsche Entscheidung andere Bars in der Nähe zu Skippen. Die Vielfalt an Drinks aus aller Welt ist beachtlich und wird sehr gut vom geschulten Personal erklärt und zubereitet. Getrunken wurde ¿Ceviche? Ein Cocktail aus Latein America, der mich geschmacklich an eine kalte Suppe erinnert hat und so wurde er mir auch in einer Schaale serviert, omami wurde hier als Geschmack sehr gut umgesetzt. Als zweiten Drink bestellen wir uns aus dem Asiatischen Raum den 'Kaiyō Martini' was allerdings nichts für Anfänger ist, laut dem geschulten Personal sei es eines der schwierigsten Drinks des Lokals. Geschmacklich und das muss man in der Tat mögen, findet man eine weiche Sushi Note wieder, was mir sehr gefallen hat, wenn man Sushi mag ist es ein sehr interessanter Drink. Als Drittes wurde mir der 'Nutty Bananas' aus dem Afrikanischen Raum serviert, was als süßer Zwischengang eine feine Abwechslung gewesen ist. Die Komposition aus den einzelnen Zutaten des Kontinentes ließen den Drink nach einem angenehm cremigen Banene und Erdnuss Speiseeis schmecken. Als letzte Abrundung des Abends ließ ich mir ein Classic Drink der Barszene herstellen, den 'Espresso Martini', geschmacklich so wie optisch wurde er mit viel Liebe und das muss man hier lobenswert erwähnen mit einem frisch hergestellten Espresso aus einer Siebträgermaschine hergestellt. Lobenswert ist an der Stelle auch, das stehst auf eine ausgewogene Hydration geachtet wird und immer ein Glas mit weichem, gefiltert Wasser am eigenen Platz bereit steht. Die Getränkekarte ist mit einer großen Weltkarte und kleineren Symbolen zu Geschmäckern gut aufgebaut. Mit einem QR Code wird dann auf die eigene Website hingewiesen, wo sich dann aus den Kontinenten und Geschmäckern die einzelnen Drinks wieder finden. Die Preise sind für die Qualität und den Service sehr fair, man zahlt zwar im Durchschnitt etwas mehr als in anderen Bars, was mich in keinster Weise gestört hat, Qualität hat nun ml seinen Preis und offensichtlich stört es keinem anderen auch, denn das Lokal war voll. Gastronomisch ein sehr cooler Laden, klein aber fein, mit einem frischen Konzept und einer einzigartigen Weltreise durch die Geschmäcker. Unterm Strich sehr zu empfehlen und wir kommen wieder.

PS: 5 Sterne bei den Speisen gegeben, hatten in die Richtung während unseres Aufenthaltes nichts verzehrt. Wird beim Nächsten Mal noch nachgeholt wenn ihr da etwas anzubieten habt.
