Shiso Burger Hamburg — Restaurant in Hamburg

It was request for me to elaborate more on my review so lets go: It was too warm in the restaurant, we were sweating We had to wait a very long time to get someone to come to us, because they are clearly understaffed They forgot our Apfelschorle, we had to eat the burgers with dry throat, in a very warm place, it was mostly unpleasant The burgers tasted OK but they are too small for their price. I ordered the one with double meat, even then, I was still hungry afterwards (and I really dont eat much). We realized no one would never come to the table for us to pay, so we had to go to the cashier They only had one card device, and I had to wait for it for more than 5 minutes standing close to the cashier. After I realized we would never be able to pay by card, I chose to pay with cash. Then they told me they also didnt have exchange (for 50€ paying a 33€ meal). So I had to wait even more for the card machine. We wanted to pay getrennt, we had to pay zusammen The only good point was that people were nett with us during the whole time. Okay, I do have to admit that the burgers are amazing. However after having contact with one employee I decided to give one star, because the service and communication is really bad. I have worked in many restaurants for several years and never experienced something like this. So we ordered two burgers: one normal and one large. When it arrived they looked identical and we couldn’t see which one was the large one en which one was the medium one. Therefore we decided to contact them. We got a long story from them that basically said that it couldn’t be the case that they made a mistake, because their kitchen is not making any mistakes. After that they said they would see what they could do for us and in a second they changed the story again. They said they will not do anything for us and basically didn’t believe what we said. I was shocked because of this and still can’t believe what they all said, because I was not taking serious. Thus although the burgers are good, I will not order here again, because I don’t feel taken serious...

I want to split my review into three categories:

the place: tiny, cozy place with a cool atmosphere. The interior is well designed (even I did not see everything) and the pictures on the wall were funny. You will definetly have a good feeling while sitting here.

the staff: very, very, very friendly and symphatic. Supportive and everything went smooth. To the owner: you did the perfect choice with your staff :)

the food: tastes very delicious. I had the Bulgogi Burger and it was perfectly prepared and served. The sweetpotato fries are different in how they were cut but taste good. You can consider adding a bit more of sauce. The Kimchi tasted good as well (and spicy).

However, there is one major downside: the burger was way smaller than what you get in other burger bars. This is not necesarrily a bad thing but the relation of price and what you get is not reasonable. Keep in mind that you have to pay fries and drinks on top.

So overall, I give 4 stars. It would be a 5 if the burger were...
