Lebanese food is always a good idea and Damas did not disappoint!

Even though the place does not look appealing from the outside, the atmosphere and the vibe inside was wonderful! We ordered a menu for two - a set of 12 appetizers came within 10 minutes and all of them were absolutely delicious, tasty and with the perfect amount of spices! I could not fault any of them. Second part of the menu arrived on our table approximately 45 minutes later as the restaurant was fairly busy. I have to especially compliment the chicken as the flavours, taste and tenderness were off the hook, absolute top quality! The lamb was a bit chewy but overall good. Rice was perfectly done, wonderfully spiced. Nice touch were these little pieces of pizza bread with a little spicy kick to it. Lebanese red wine perfectly complemented the dinner.

You could possibly get more meat for the money you pay, but on the other hand we barely finished the whole meal. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. There is a small seating area outside, however I feel it might be a bit noisy as the restaurant is located on the main road. We paid with a card. Visited...

Finally came here after wanting to try this restaurant since we moved to Mainz and it did not disappoint! We are always looking for flavorful, ethnic foods in the area, and with Mainz being very limited in providing those, we were thrilled to find Damas. We had the 6 mezze starter menu which is a preset menu with some amazing spreads and fried goodies. I could eat just the appetizers and my tummy would be happy and full. The main course was delicious as well. The rice is soft, fluffy and flavorful, and the meats were all very tender and seasoned perfectly. I’m usually very wary of chicken, but the chicken was probably my favorite part of the main course! It was juicy and very well cooked. There was also this whipped garlic cream (not sure of the name) that really complimented the meats and was unlike anything else I have ever tasted. It had a very smooth consistency like the hummus, but was light and airy. Thanks for a wonderful meal and such...

The restaurant had a noticeable musty smell throughout, which really detracted from the overall experience. Even though the ambiance wasn’t bad, the damp odor made it uncomfortable to stay for too long. The food was delayed despite the place not being busy, though the taste was quite good.

One major downside was the restroom, located downstairs and only accessible by stairs. It had an unpleasant, strong smell that made using it uncomfortable. While the food was tasty, the persistent bad smells in both the restaurant and restrooms overshadowed the experience. I won't revist the restaurant, and i won't recommend this restaurant. The staff also didn’t seem very friendly, though we didn’t interact much — just my...

A great place to get an assortment of Lebanese/Syrian dishes and grilled meats, also known as "mezzes". They offer different versions which vary on size, hot/cold, veggie/meat and obviously price. We got a small vegetarian platter to accompany our mixed grilled meat plates. The meat included lamb, beef and chicken. If order like us, get the mezze with the meat so you can out some of the stuff on the flat bread with meat like an arabic taco. Thats the pro move. It is a little pricey but very delicious and would definitely recommend it.
