Frittenwerk Mannheim — Restaurant in Mannheim

When Frittenwerk Mannheim recently opened earlier this year, my husband and I faced an issue while trying to get change after paying in cash for our food. Initially, I approached the male cashier to order our food and asked if we could receive coins as change. He acknowledged my request but proceeded to ignore me when serving the next customer. Subsequently, my German husband addressed the same matter, and the cashier promptly handed him the coins with a BIG SMILE. Probably you might point out that it’s another misunderstanding or miscommunication, but unfortunately it’s absolutely not, as both my husband and I communicated the same thing in English, which the male employee understood. We used English because the staff consistently communicated in English in front of us upon our arrival. The only noticeable difference is that my husband and the cashier are white, while I am Asian. Unfortunately, Asian customers might reconsider dining here if employees have the 'freedom' to choose whether to understand and cooperate with customers based on their appearance. I was raised in California, where it's certainly not tolerated in restaurants. However, it appears that employees in this country could benefit from additional training in diversity and...

My experience at Frittenwerk Mannheim was an absolute joy! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of their amazing poutine and the exciting array of French fry toppings like curry wurst. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left me wanting more.

The fast service was impressive, allowing me to indulge in their delectable offerings without any delay. Plus, the cool air-conditioned atmosphere provided the perfect refuge from the scorching hot summer weather, making my visit even more enjoyable.

The finger foods, including the chicken cheese sticks and avocado chicken balls, were simply delightful additions to the already incredible menu. I couldn't get enough of them!

Another aspect that made my experience hassle-free was their multiple payment options. Whether it was Apple Pay, cards, or Maestro cards, Frittenwerk Mannheim made sure that settling the bill...

In meinen Augen Abzocke!!

Heute das erste mal im Frittenwerk gewesen und definitiv das letzte mal! Schade eigentlich, denn tendenziell ist die Idee gut und das Ambiente lädt ein.

Wir waren mit zwei Erwachsenen und zwei Kindern dort. Die Preise der Pommes, wie soll ich sagen, sind völlig übertrieben. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier überhaupt nicht. Mein kleiner Sohn hat eine normale Portion Pommes mit Ketchup gewollt. Da Ketchup bei einer normalen Portion Pommes nicht dabei ist, muss man 90 Cent extra zahlen. Finde ich schon recht viel für Ketchup…damit sind wir auf einen Gesamtpreis von 8.55€ gekommen. Wow. Und dazu gab es eine Fanta für 3.60€ Inkl. Pfand (dazu komme ich gleich) übrigens reden wir hier von einer 0.33L Flasche…stolze Preise, dafür dass man am Tresen auf sein Essen und trinken warten muss und dieses selbst zum Tisch bringt und auch wieder abräumen muss.

Als wir dann bestellt hatten (alle Pommesvarianten waren übrigens noch teurer als das von meinem jüngsten) gesamt haben wir über 40€ bezahlt. Für am Ende 4 Pommes mit Getränk…das ist schon Wahnsinn.

Die Tischauswahl war etwas schwierig, weil alle Tische völlig verschmiert waren, von einer Servicekraft (außer hinter der Theke) keine Spur.

Als wir dann einen verdreckten Tisch genommen haben, ging’s ans Essen. Joa und was soll ich sagen, war ok. Nicht schlecht, aber halt auch nicht sonderlich gut. Und daher für den Preis überhaupt nicht gerechtfertigt. Da bekommt man an einige. imbissläden deutlich bessere Pommes für weniger Geld.

Als wir dann da saßen und die Pommes gegessen haben. Ist mir die größte Abzocke aufgefallen die ich je in einem Laden gesehen habe. Zu Beginn habe ich ja erwähnt, dass die teuren Getränkepreise inkl. Pfand sind. Dh. Man muss danach sich wieder an der Kasse anstellen um sein Pfand zu bekommen. ODER man nimmt die Getränkekisten die überall im Laden verteilt stehen und „schenkt“ dem Laden noch das Pfand. Ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass viele gar nicht lesen, dass die Getränke Pfand haben und viele werden auch sicherlich keine Lust haben, nach dem Essen sich nochmal an der Kasse anzustellen um das Pfand wieder zu bekommen. In meinen Augen ist das abzocke und einfach frech! Klar die Einzelperson ist jetzt nicht so wild mit 15 Cent Pfand. Aber machen es 10 Leute sind wir bei 1.5€ und bei 100 Leuten bereits bei 15€ die der Laden mal eben so nebenher dazu verdient.

Also für mich: nie wieder! Wenn die Pommes wenigstens richtig geil wären, aber das sind sie halt...
