So i was seated by amazing waiter. He welcomed me and my dog. I already felt the family feeling. I was so pleasantly surprised after all I’ve had experienced in Mannheim.
My coffee and water arrived in 3 minutes, I almost cried of happiness!
Waiter recommended me tortellini with ricotta cheese, cherry tomatoes and sauce. So I went all in.
Food arrived in 10 minutes, warm, rich and generous portions. Sauce heavy but really yummy. I have to tap my hat cuz this was really really lovely family food. I felt so pleasant. Lot of parmigiana cheese. Tons of sauce. Really couldn’t complain. Such a surprise.
I was super full after half of the meal but I just couldn’t leave the plate half full and disrespect the chef. So I managed to finish. ❤️
Service was 12/10. Food 10/10. My coffee was nice. I couldn’t believe how lucky I’ve got.
Also the place was clean, I even saw lady cleaning the windows. So happy.
Finally proper “welcome” to the city.
This waiter - really owned the place, super confident, cheerful, pleasant to talk to. Very very good at his job. Finally (!!) some proper service.
When large group arrived sadly I was sitting with empty plate for 20 minutes, was thinking I might order desert. But Didn’t manage. :(
Thank you so very much. It was really really pleasant experience.

Read moreWe were staying at the hotel which had a piece of paper that recommended this restaurant we were debating about which one to go to, but I read the reviews nothing recent and decided to go. The pasta with mushrooms was delicious. I had the pizza which I thought was very good and a glass of wine the waitress Jody was very pleasant helpful and could speech English. Well I was happy to have her as my server definitely if you’re in the area I would pop in and try some of the food. They also have ice cream, but I was too full to eat the gelato. just wanted to mention that they say they take credit cards but when you get there, they do not take credit cards that never really works for me. That’s unfortunate because people that travel would spend more money with credit cards than if they had to have cash since we don’t travel with cash so be aware even though it says credit cards if you’re from out of Germany, they will not take...
Read moreI came across Frenk’s by accident, and what a pleasant accident! The proprietor is multilingual (Italian, Spanish, German, and English….perhaps more). The menu is varied and consist mostly of Sicilian fare. I ordered a special made calzone which was quite tasty. The bruschetta was nice….not too oily. The spaghetti was Al dente, exactly how we like it. There was sufficient staff to ensure you weren’t waiting for hours. The price was a little on the steep side for the schnitzel (22 Euros), but is relatively inexpensive when compared to what someone would pay in the GCC. The gelato was quite tasty. Overall, not a bad place to eat. The place can get a little loud. I took some cannoli home (vanilla cream and ricotta). Bottom line: not the best Italian fare, but well worth a visit if you want something which won’t disappoint). I paid with Visa….I’m not sure if AMEX...
