Staying at the 25hours hotel and today being my first day here in Munich, I thought I'd have dinner at the hotel. I loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the food was fantastic. However, service wasn't quite five stars.
I was seated promptly after I turned up for my reservation - but the I was not given a menu until I had to request. He was apologetic, but still it didn't give me the perfect experience from the get-go. Everybody seemed very frantic and frazzled - even at the late hours of a Thursday night. Not sure if this is normal. After the tasty Roasted Broccoli, I mentioned I would be happy to have a break for 5 minutes. I gave many cues after I was ready to proceed with the mains - but nobody asked me (when the time was perfect for that), until again ... I had to wait longer, to be asked whether I was ready for the mains. The Jerusalem Teller was very tasty - it was great with delicious hummus and chicken.
So, all in all, I could've given five stars all around and it would've been a perfect evening. I have to deduct one star from the frantic and frazzled wait staff. Not sure if there were enough wait staff for the evening or if this...
Read moreNENI is a chain of modern Israeli restaurants located inside the 25hours hotels in a number of major cities. it's very tastefully decorated, both child- and dog-friendly, the location is across the street from the central station, the servers are young and friendly, and the whole place was really packed all night, so make sure to book a table in advance and prepare to wait to be seated. once inside, the hotel and its popular bar serving drinks and hard liquor is only a staircase away. now to the important bit: the food. the evening menu is a small selection of starters, mains and desserts inspired by Tel Aviv street foods and classic dishes alike. we decided to order the vegetarian options and I wish I could say they were amazing because the restaurant looks so great and I adore the cuisine, but aside from the incredible oven-baked sweet potato served with salad and the addictive chocolate cake, the dishes we were served were alright, but no better than from a downtown deli. it's not bad, but I can't deny I had expected a...
Read moreI wanted to like this restaurant more, but the food just wasn't worth it in my opinion. I ordered the Jerusalem dish with the hummus, chicken, and roasted vegetables. My food came out in less than three minutes, which made me feel like it was fast food. The dish tasted alright, but it wasn't anything noteworthy or worth the price I paid for it. I was afraid that the dish was cold because it came out so fast, but thankfully the vegetables were hot. The chicken however was lukewarm and did not invite a good feeling.
The service was great and all, but I can't give more than three stars because the food was just average. Considering the higher than normal price, that kind of kicks it to below average for me. Overall, I wasn't very happy with the money to food quality ratio.
The atmosphere is good. The entrance is a cafe area, and the second floor is the gift shop and what I presume is the hotel (?). I did not stay...
