We visited this hotel in summer when it was 30 degrees. Admittedly we are from northern Australia and used to the heat but we found the ceiling fans and additional standing fans in the room very adequate and had an exceptionally comfortable stay. The rooms are dated but are very clean and functional - wardrobe space, bag storage, desk, mini fridge. We were three adults in a triple room and found it spacious. The bathroom is small but has a double sink with good counter space and ventilation. The water pressure and temperature in the shower is good and consistent. Its proximity to the train station and city makes it a great option when travelling via train throughout Europe. The hotel was fully booked when we were there due to the Euro soccer tournament and the staff were efficient and had good systems in place to streamline their check in and check out process - we had no issues. Breakfast was a delight - great friendly staff and good quality fresh food and coffee. What you would expect for a German breakfast - fruit, yoghurt, cereals, weisswurst, other sausages, eggs, cheese, cold meats and great bread rolls and pretzels. The lift is slow but it works and makes life easy when lugging large suitcases. While this hotel is not luxury is has everything you need and friendly professional staff. We have travelled throughout Europe extensively and would recommend this hotel due to its location (proximity to train station and city and good restaurant nearby), great breakfast and friendly staff. We...

Read moreThe hotel is just like the photo - A bit old-fashioned. The spacial design is a bit awkward for my room. It's like an upgrade from hostel but with so much more space.||The hotel was kind enough to remind us after booking that there's no air-con. It's good to clarify that upon booking. They do have overhead fan and floor fan provided. I had the room facing the street and living on the 2/F with window opened quite troubles me as I'm quite sensitive to noise. I didn't sleep well as it is close to city centre and sometimes train passingby in early morning is rather loud. My average sleep time for the 3-nights are 12nn-6am. Some insect will also fly into the room if you have the window opened.|The switch in the room is can only be turned on / off light one by one.||They do not have anything extra, no kettle but you can get eater at the pantry / reception. And bonus point is that they can make the water sparkling. Great way to cool down from the heat.|Like other hotels, no toiletries. Only one all-in-one wash provided. The fridge did not work very well for my room.||The service was alright. They serve you chocolate coated vanilla dice upon check in and surprises me that they make bed and change towel on a daily basis, despite they said they're quite fully booked over the weekend. ||Nothing beats the location of the hotel, just a few steps away from Exit J of the Hauptbahnof. However, noise at night and sometimes smoke makes it uncomfortablefor me. Since it's on a busy street, be aware of the safety when...
