Despite the very cozy bar, the service spoiled the whole experience. Our waiter has been rude throughout the whole evening. He didn't bother explaining the menu and never cleaned the glasses on our table from the previous guests. To make it worse, a guest accidentally ran into our waiter, which caused the beers to spill on the suit of my friend. While the guest apologized and we certainly understand that things like that can happen, our waiter acted completely unacceptably. He only removed the broken glass but not the beer on the floor and he didn't offer cleaning for the suit. To make it worse he didn't even apologize for what happened. We know it wasn't directly his mistake, but as a waiter he is still required to apologize...we worked in service ourselves and know what we're talking about. Anyway, we then told him that his behavior was unacceptable, however, he only said that he wouldn't care but if we'd like to complain we can always write a complaint to the GM of the hotel, the bar wouldn't belong to the hotel anyway. Unfortunately, a service like that is unacceptable and destroys the experience of an otherwise really cool bar completely.
Update: the name of the waiter was not Marvin, as indicated earlier in this review. Unfortunately, it was the name on the receipt and, since our waiter didn't want to tell us his name, we assumed it was the one mentioned on the receipt. The hotel's GM contacted me personally after this incident and we could resolve the situation. We're happy to go back and give it...
Read moreI am appalled by the treatment my friends and I received at this bar on October 6th. We encountered an extremely unprofessional and discriminatory bartender (approx. 6 feet tall, brown hair, beard, red vest) who made our visit horrible.
From the start, his condescending attitude was evident. He scolded us for seating ourselves—something other patrons did without issue—making it clear that we were being treated differently. When we asked to pay separately, he rolled his eyes and dismissed us, walking away and leaving us feeling confused and disrespected.
When I asked for his name to file a formal complaint, he responded mockingly instead of professionally, which was shocking. His behavior was not only rude but felt racially motivated, as we observed him interacting warmly with other groups while we were met with contempt.
This is unacceptable in any establishment, especially one in a diverse city like Munich. I demand immediate action from management regarding this serious issue. It’s crucial that staff are held accountable for their behavior to prevent future guests from experiencing such blatant...
Read moreFirst off I have to say I only like to leave reviews if a place is really good or really bad, in the case of the Boilerman Bar- really good. First off the bar staff were super attentive, both when the bar was completely empty when I got there and when the bar was completely full when I left. Obviously when it was fuller I waited a little bit longer but otherwise after I ordered something it always came within minutes of ordering- that includes a plaster for the blister on my foot 😅 I was very open to trying different drinks and I couldn’t decide what I wanted to drink so every round I just told the bartender to surprise me as long as it was fruity- which he did! My favorite was some sort of mojito drink with pomegranate syrup, was so tasty. The food was also very good especially the Korean chicken bites and the phill cigars (they were all I ordered so I can only say those were delicious) it’s an easy bar close to the city and good for a place to end a long day of shopping. Thank you for a...
