I would not even give this place one star. I had the worst dining experience ever at this restaurant during our last night in Athens. My wife wanted to eat pork slouvaki for her last meal in Greece but after ordering it, the waiter brought out veal instead. I immediately questioned the entree but the waiter insisted it was pork slouvaki. I did not believe him so I asked another waiter passing by what the dish was and the person confirmed it was veal and not the pork slouvaki we had ordered. I explained to this waiter we had ordered pork slouvaki and instead of apologizing and trying to fix the problem, he tried to convince us to keep the veal since it is 'better'. After insisting we get what we ordered, the person called our waiter to discuss out problem. The waiter came back and did not apologize. He took the veal away and offered to replace it with what we ordered. After dinner, he brought us a bill with an incorrect amount for the pork slouvaki. I told the waiter the price should be around 9.50 and that I wanted to confirm by looking at the menu again. The waiter left and came back without a menu and just confirmed the price as 9.50. Upon leaving the restaurant I checked the price at the entrance and found out it was in fact 9 and not 9.50. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as they are dishonest. They must think tourists are stupid and cannot tell between pork slouvaki and a braised veal or not know what...
Read more4.3 for me. Just ate there this afternoon with my wife. The grandson of the original founder/owner was our waiter “Mito” I think. Super nice, helped us find what we were smelling in the aire as well walked by.
Customer service was fine! I ordered a Greek beer that was tasty but I ended up having an allergic reaction to it. We said we would pay for it but asked to have some water and coke instead. With speed I was helped and my allergy subsided(along with the help of an allergy tablet). He didn’t charge me for the beer! Thanks.
We ended up eating the stuffed peppers, leg of lamb, moussaka, rice & potatoes, a Greek salad, and a nice glass of white wine.
As my wife and I shared different treats, we were delighted in every dish. The stuffed peppers were delicious, not too heavy, not too light. The mutton was perfect in its sauce.
The outdoor dining in near perfect weather here in Athens, was a great top off to a 1/4 day of exploring the Acropolis area with a guided tour.
The prices seemed a little high until we got the bill. Then we felt relieved as they were reasonable. We would gladly go back next time in Athens.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for somewhere that has a Greek menu, is well established(3 generations of ownership), and great...
Read moreIt is very difficult to differentiate a good restaurant from tourist trap in Plaka. This one is an absolute gem! Simple menu with all the favourite Greek specialties. Traditional tables and chairs, simple, efficient, non pretentious, friendly service, fresh ingredients: exactly what one is looking for when traveling to Greece. We wanted an authentic gastronomic experience by Acropolis and that's what we've got! My cabbage salad was freshly cut for me minute before landing on my table in a very generous portion. My son had a generous bowl of greek salade with those sweet tomatoes and cracking firm cucumbers Greece is famous for. The veal was heavenly tasty. Octopus in vinegar appetizer that I had for principal meal was just perfect. Unbeatable pricing, almost suspicious, but it's just honest, proud and authentic Athenian restaurant, very rare these days. Impeccable prompt service. We are definately returning and we highly recommend it to whoever is looking for quality fresh...
