A shame to Cretan culture

To the wonderful Greeks and especially, Cretans:

I was denied entry at a time when the restaurant had 1 table occupied. The host had his arms folded, he looked me from top to bottom, and told my friend and I that the police does not allow entry without phone reservations due to covid. The host in my hotel said this is false.

I travelled for 1.5 months in Greece. All Greeks in many islands rave about the love I would get from people in Crete. The way this host behaved brings shame to you. They told me Cretans will treat foreign visitors with kindness and like family. This business treated me and my friend like dirt. Read the other reviews on other sites and here. Face control! Greeks only! Did not like how I dressed. Racist.

If you are proud of your great and ancient culture, avoid this business. In the States, we would report to Better Business Bureau and license would be pulled.

To tourists: Even if you are from majority and the place looks exciting, stand up for those who are treated poorly for base reasons. Avoid.

To the business: Why not put a big sign "Members Only"? Then, people don't have to experience your...

Rude staff on the door, a young lady said there was no more tables available purely to the fact I was wearing a football shirt so I asked if I change my top will that help she replied we have no more tables, I said ok is it ok to wait and see if one becomes available in the next 30minutes and she replied no ! So either she was physic and knew no one would be leaving in the next 30minutes from over 30 tables or the fact she didn’t like me wearing a T-shirt with a English cross on it offended her , Place looks really nice probably only the attitude of this one lady. the next day 9 of us went down and she asked if we would like a table as we dressed better and the bar was still as busy as the night prior, but we said no thank you were spend our money somewhere...

The place looks nice from outside but the attitude of the people who were talking to us was very rude and told use that we needed reservations and need covid clearance. The place was empty. I told him that I was vaccinated and had the proof but he wouldn't hear it. Got a tingling feeling that this is place that is being selective on who it allows in. So if you are a tourist and non Greek then better avoid this place. I talked to our host at the hotel and they have not heard of any such rules. Reviewing other comments confirmed my hunch. Avoid this place. Bunch of narrow minded...
