Crete Chania-Ionas boutique htl ||10 days £2200||||Driven to the hotel by LoveHolidays, drop off at hotel no chance, 1/4 mile walk later we found it in an alleyway. Sh%t service.||||The hotel well what can I say. More sh%t than I could have wished for. ||Top floor no lift don’t book if you don’t like stairs. ||Room; on suite Ha, the bathroom door acted as a shower screen so fully open couldn’t swing a cat in it plus the shower handle fell apart.||||Room, 1 cupboard no drawers so we lived out of our suitcase.||||Reception what reception no one there accept at breakfast that’s it. We where locked out and if we didn’t have our phone to call would have slept on the street. Very poor. No service at all for the whole stay. ||I even had to open the door to someone who had just arrived and was knocking on the door to get in. Now that’s bullocks.||||No where to relax only your bed and tv, Hoo there is a mosquito room on the 4th floor (boutique) if you can be bothered to climb up there.||||The hotel is in a yard with restaurants. If you like noise till 2am then you’re fine!!!!||If you get changed you have to have your curtains shut or the whole street can look in, nice.||If you have bad joints don’t even bother going here, especially if you need help.||||When we left it was another 1/4 mile walk in the dark to find the coach pickup. What a joke.||||Would I stay here again….. not even if you gave me Gods mob number NO NO And NOOOOO.||Be careful if you book here your...

What a lovely stay we had at this hotel. I have thought for a few days how best to put into words the experience we had there, and it has been difficult-- it was that special! The rooms are just lovely-- clean and comfortable. We had a window that opened up to a charming street below and I enjoyed at the end of the night looking out at the small groups of people that gathered for late night dinners. No noise disturbances or anything like that-- just quiet murmurs of the city. It's in a perfect area of town-- short walk to the harbor and lots of little shops and restaurants to choose from. We felt safe at all times.

Re: the service we received here. It was out of this world. The breakfast in the mornings was SO good that my partner and I would push back plans to make sure we could eat in the morning. The owners noticed that I didn't drink coffee by the second day, and were kind enough to offer a special tea instead which was SO good. Little bits of attention like that just made our stay so special.

When we departed Chania to move on to Heraklion, I found myself missing our room, the city, and the people who ran the hotel (and their dog!). Ionas and Chania will forever be VERY special to us. Thank...

Such a great stay at Ionas! We stayed a whole week in Chania in July (absolutely marvellous). Ionas is family owned which makes it so much better. We arrived at 1 am and the son came to help us checkin and everyday they made sure we had enough sunscreen and encouraged us to wear our hats so we wouldn't get sunburned! We daily had breakfast which was specially catered with Gluten free options, they were so accommodating and helpful with restaurants, clubs, and so many recommendations ALL around the island.

We felt very taken care of. AC worked great, the room was a little small but it got smaller because of all our clothes, so be sure to book a bigger one if you pack 332942 outfits. Top terrace was so cute. So central, quiet, clean. We really enjoyed our stay, would...

You have to ring ahead to get entry, part time reception only. Shown to room by reception, then he left the hotel after 2 minutes of showing us around. We booked through Booking.com and the rooms/ views were great including the reviews - NOT WHAT WE GOT! The shower was so small your arms hit the walls, you had bend over the toilet to get to the sink, the bed was a rock on a wooden frame! The balcony just fitted 2 of us with great views of a wall with a window! Breakfast? No one to complain to as they had left for the night (at 1700) Very misleading pics of room etc. Not worth $150 overnight.

Once you arrived with your luggage the location is perfect, in the center of the old town yet without any street noise. But parking in or by old town is very bad. On the first night we paid 35Euro at a distant municipality lot for 14 hours. For the rest of our stay we used the park-and-ride lot and after a few trials and errors figured out the pickup and dropoff location of the free shuttle bus.
