Crete Chania-Ionas boutique htl ||10 days £2200||||Driven to the hotel by LoveHolidays, drop off at hotel no chance, 1/4 mile walk later we found it in an alleyway. Sh%t service.||||The hotel well what can I say. More sh%t than I could have wished for. ||Top floor no lift don’t book if you don’t like stairs. ||Room; on suite Ha, the bathroom door acted as a shower screen so fully open couldn’t swing a cat in it plus the shower handle fell apart.||||Room, 1 cupboard no drawers so we lived out of our suitcase.||||Reception what reception no one there accept at breakfast that’s it. We where locked out and if we didn’t have our phone to call would have slept on the street. Very poor. Read moreWhat a lovely stay we had at this hotel. I have thought for a few days how best to put into words the experience we had there, and it has been difficult-- it was that special! The rooms are just lovely-- clean and comfortable. We had a window that opened up to a charming street below and I enjoyed at the end of the night looking out at the small groups of people that gathered for late night dinners. No noise disturbances or anything like that-- just quiet murmurs of the city. It's in a perfect area of town-- short walk to the harbor and lots of little shops and restaurants to choose from. We felt safe at all times.
Re: the service we received here. It was out of this world. The breakfast in the mornings was SO good that my partner and I would push back plans to make sure we could eat in the morning. The owners noticed that I didn't drink coffee by the second day, and were kind enough to offer a special tea instead which was SO good. Little bits of attention like that just made our stay so special.
When we departed Chania to move on to Heraklion, I found myself missing our room, the city, and the people who ran the hotel (and their dog!). Ionas and Chania will forever be VERY special to us. Thank...
Read moreSuch a great stay at Ionas! We stayed a whole week in Chania in July (absolutely marvellous). Ionas is family owned which makes it so much better. We arrived at 1 am and the son came to help us checkin and everyday they made sure we had enough sunscreen and encouraged us to wear our hats so we wouldn't get sunburned! We daily had breakfast which was specially catered with Gluten free options, they were so accommodating and helpful with restaurants, clubs, and so many recommendations ALL around the island.
We felt very taken care of. AC worked great, the room was a little small but it got smaller because of all our clothes, so be sure to book a bigger one if you pack 332942 outfits. Top terrace was so cute. So central, quiet, clean. We really enjoyed our stay, would...
