We made a huge mistake when we booked the room named Tilemaxos suite. If we have booked any other room, I think we could have enjoyed the place. But this one was just above a loudy bar, with balcony -but at 1st floor so we felt like we were in the street, and the (tiny) reception is so close that you hear everyone talking and walking in and out the rooms. There is a real problem with soundproofing. That’s a pity because the building is very nice, the decoration too, it was clean, the owner (even if he wasn’t really present) is nice and comprehensive and indeed, there were nice attentions like raki and oranges to welcome you. So we felt bad to leave the room and explain the problem to this nice man who didn’t try to vindicate or anything; but I think a solution would be to lower the price of this particular room (or any that offers so few intimacy as this one). So that people woulnd’t feel deceived, especially when you see there are other rooms that seem way more quiet and cosy. We got the feeling we just chose bad (other rooms were available), but nothing in the description or the price sent off alarm bells, and it was very frustating. It’s not the first comment about that, and I think something needs to be done to avoid...
Read moreThe main assets of this suite were: location (minutes from both ends of the harbour, ace restaurants, great shopping, sights, bus station for travel to beach and wider country), servicing (good daily cleaning, regular changes of linen and towels, daily fresh oranges and top-ups of raki), big bathroom with good shower, friendly, helpful people. We stayed in the Hamam suite, quirkily adapted from this historic building alongside the Byzantine walls, and the old stone walls and arches limit the layout. It needs opening up from one small window in the main room and high walls round the terrace. Both bedrooms were small and enclosed; the double beds (though comfortable) were on the floor and against a wall, so you had to be agile and the bedroom on the mezzanine (which we didn't use) had a low ceiling. For our 2-week stay, there was not enough storage. So, OK if you are out most of the time, but not an apartment to spend time...
Read moreVery bad experience. Firstly when we arrived althought we were in communication with the receptionist for directions (the guy was located somewhere else most probably) we were waiting for 10 minutes in the sun for somebody to let us in. The space in the room was not enough for four persons -although was advertised as sufficient- and it is important to note that in the room located in a wooden semi floor space with in you couldnt stand - only moving around on your knees.||Beds were located directly on the floor and many bugs were moving around. Absolutely not any parking space near by - walking distance from the nearest parking place 10-15 mins.||Pictures and description of the specific premises are absolutely not objective.||The location of the premises is prime, just at the centre of the tourist/commercial area.||Not...
