Alexis Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Today I explored old town for the first time and found this restaurant whilst passing threw, first impressions were great, it looked absolutely beautiful, and the food I saw people eating looked incredible too. Another bonus was the fact that the staff didn’t not ‘’hassle’’ me to come in, they didn’t ask me to look at the menu, they didn’t try and bring me in with good offers or anything like that, they simply just stood there and smiled and gave off a welcoming chilled vibe😊. Every other restaurant I passed this evening was practically begging for our custom which is a red flag for me but this one was not! After walking around to see if there was anything better to offer, we decided to come back and go for this place and I’m glad we did!

The food was absolutely outstanding, delicious flavours, beautifully presented, cooked fresh in an open kitchen, stunning surroundings, great customer service. Honestly 10/10. I had prawns & steak, it was all just absolutely stunning.

The only thing I will say is it was €70 for a ribeye steak, it wasn’t wagyu or anything like that, just a standard ribeye steak and albeit it was cooked beautifully, in the uk in a good steak restaurant a decent ribeye would set you back around £30…so my only moan would be slightly overpriced. But I guess you are also paying for your surroundings so… swings and round abouts. It was so tasty and I’d highly recommend this place! Not suitable for disabled people or people with babies however as the toilets are up an extremely steep spiral staircase and would be very difficult to access if you have a disability / need to change your baby. I don’t even think they have a baby change.

But yes, if I come to Rhodes again, I’ll certainly come back to...

We came here for dinner for our wedding anniversary. We were looking for a good restaurant to eat tasty seafood. Nice place in a nice area. One waiter was very nice and professional, but the other one was... prejudiced? As soon as we sat down, he came over and the first information out of his mouth was "you have to order for 50 euros per person minimum". The amount wasn't an issue, but what kind of information was that? I noticed that other guests who came after us did not receive one. besides - if I wanted to come for dessert and a glass of wine, I can't because I won't spend enough? This is a strange practice and I haven't seen such information in the menu either. It was very unprofessional and unpleasant for us. The other waiter was ok and that's the only reason we left a tip in the end. The food was delicious, I must admit, but I subtract a star for this situation, because the service is...

I was seated by Sebastian. Who is a friendly host with a big smile to make you feel welcome.

I chose the prosecco that goes perfect with the Greek salad. The Greek salad was very good it was fresh and you can taste that that have good quality ingredients. I also got the crispy feta bites which I have never seen befor and was a good combination between sweet and salty.

I got a dessert with pannacotta and raspberry with ice cream of pistachio. Het pannacotta is nice and simpel. The raspberry at more sour to it which I like. I fell in love with the pistachio ice cream and Carmel.

So everything was good in my experience amazing even the cook knows...
