Amazing experience with excellent service. We found this restaurant by chance but I wish we had found it earlier. The restaurant is newly decorated, very clean and pretty.Yiannis (apologies if i got your name wrong) was an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant doesnt try to fake authenticity with plastic grapevines and ancient decor and they do no not chase you and harass you on the street like many of the other restaurants; they let the food and service do the talking! We ordered the house Rose which was very tasty and the greek plate starter with hummus tzatsiki dips. I absolutely loved the hummus and tzatsiki, so fresh and delicious not the bulk purchased premade greesy style we'd experienced before. I could have eaten this all evening. For mains we had duck and Stifado. Again plates were cleared! Both dishes were cooked to perfection, superb quality at a low price. So delightful leaving us full yet still wanting more! Usually we would not order dessert but everything was so good we asked to see the dessert menu. Im not really a dessert person so Yiannis was kind enough to show me some of their freshly made desserts in the kitchen. After smelling their strawberry soup i couldn't say no. For dessert we ordered strawberry soup with icecream and baklava. The strawberry soup was georgous , fresh and sweet with a beautiful aroma. I never tried baklava like this but it was so tasty and definitely did not disappoint. The food was sooo good at an unbeatable price ! We will be back again before the end of our holiday, I just hope our waistline's...
Read moreOne star because the vegan options here are not vegan but vegetarian meaning they use animal products like egg and milk. This is especially crucial if you have allergies to these things like I do. They barely have any vegan options except the salads and even then the dressings may have milk. The server even incorrectly thought that butter was without milk. So beware.
The menu lists “vegan” options but this is incorrect; it should be listed as vegetarian containing milk and eggs.
Update: May 27, 2025 the owner replied to my review in a very unprofessional manner accusing my review of being fake. Which makes me suspect that the many positive reviews may actually be fake. I was in fact there with my husband and he witnessed me ask the waitress if the dishes under the vegan title in the menu had milk or eggs because I have an allergy. She said they did use milk and eggs so I shouldn’t have them. I asked her about the vegan desserts and she said I also couldn’t have those, because they contain cow milk and butter. This restaurant falsely advertises its vegetarian products as vegan per what I was told. This is a huge liability if someone is allergic to these items (like I am) and has a reaction. The owner’s rude response to my review demonstrates his lack...
Read moreWe are in Rhodes for an extended stay for our 40th Anniversary, which was last night. We chose to go to Avocado Restaurant, near where we are staying in Rhodes Town. We are so happy we did! I’m Greek American, we have been to Greece many times and tend to focus on our favorite Greek dishes. This trip we wanted to make sure we tried new dishes, so we have even more Greek favorites! Avocado, with helpful owner, Yannis was the perfect place. He explained dishes to us & helped us select new to us starters, salad and main dishes. Every dish was absolutely amazing! He also helped us choose a great local wine. We, of course, know ouzo, but wanted to know the difference in tsipouro & mastika, other local drink specialties, so he provided us samples to try with our desserts. Thanks to Yannis, his wife & their fabulous restaurant, our special occasion was our perfect memorable experience. But, with their reasonable prices, fresh outstanding food choices and the restaurant’s easy location, we’ll be back again before we leave. Do yourself a favor & come by for a dinner yourselves! They’ll make you...
