Thomas Taverna Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Stopped here for a meal and my god! Its the best food I have had all holiday and we've been here 8 days so far. I went for the Greek plate which is a mix of different Greek foods and it was absolutely delicious, everything.

Thomas greeted us as we were eyeing up the menu outside, considering he is also the chef you can see he puts a lot of effort and love into this restaurant. His food was stunning and the environment was so lovely. Dont be deterred by the design of the menu, it's simple but take a proper look and you will find some very special food.

This is really a family owned restaurant with the kids helping out too who are also very nice. The atmosphere was so relaxed and fun, a guy turned up who obviously knew Thomas and his family, bought a bunch of roses and gave one each to each table.

Seemed like a decent place according to reviews. We ordered gyro plate, and mousaka. We got big chunks of pork which he insisted this is gyros!!!! He tried to trick us into saying this is gyros made in a different way. Then he said people do not like the thin sliced gyros and tried to play with words! It’s crazy to try to deceive people like this just because we are tourists! Mousaka was bland, not like any other places in Greece that we have tried. We were looking for restaurant and Thomas welcomed us. He offered us a glass of red wine and one of ouzo. There is a very friendly and greek atmosphere. The staff is very polite and also the young boy who served us. We took octopus salad (which is an octopus grilled) and gratin mussels ( which in reality were served in a special sauce).
