Greek Traditional Restaurant Kipos — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We wanted to try some proper Greek food while in Rhodes for a week and went for this place. One major concern was the lack of ANY Google reviews (there doesn't seem to be any obvious reason for this!?).. I wanted Mousaka and my wife went for pizza (low risk I guess). There were plenty Trip Advisor reviews, but they were all from 2019.

The staff were welcoming and friendly and there was no issue throughout with service at all... But my Mousaka was cold on one side and hot on the other. I'm no expert but that tends to mean it was frozen, not defrosted completely then microwaved. Unless the manager can come up with some incredible explanation, I can't think of any other reason half my Mousaka was cold. If this was the case then not only was my food not fresh, it was also potentially dangerous to my wellbeing.

And before you ask, I didn't complain at the time as I just didn't want to create a fuss and just wasn't sure what you could do to resolve...

This is a MUST DINE destination! Our foodie friends who have lived in Greece their whole lives recommended this restaurant gem for Authentic and delicious Greek food - a place where the locals prefer to go. The food was absolutely excellent - our favorite meal of all the islands we visited. This family operated establishment welcomes everyone as if you are part of their family - exceptional service. The owner helped us choose, was very thoughtful of dietary needs and preferences. The garden setting is gorgeous, perfect breeze and a most relaxing evening. Do not miss this hidden gem - authentic family recipes and such wonderfully kind people. We will sorely miss this place when we return to Chicago. Thank you Kipos for a meal we will remember...

Not the most inviting of outdoor restaurants, maybe due to the subdued lighting and not many customers. We had a good Greek Salad and a Greek combination main for 2. When it came up it was so big I decided the price must have been 29 euros per person so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was 29 altogether. The dish contained moussaka, stifado, dolmades, gemista, orzo, keftedes. We couldn't finish it all. Fantastic value for money. A free ouzo at the end. Good service from a waiter with a nice, dry...
