Appetizers were very good, beef fillet was very good. Alltough they dont know what is/how to make béarnaise sauce 😅
Then the not so good part. I ordered from ”traditional greek dishes” list the giouvetsi. It was okayish, little bit too salty and not much other flavours, for the price NOT good as you get real traditional giouvetsi elsewhere almost half the price. THEN to the bad part: waiter asked me if food was perfect, Im honest and told it was ok but little bit too salty. He insisted that he takes it to chef, even though I said its okay, because, it should be casserole, you bake it for several hours, how you gonna get the salt out of the batch?
Well.. 10 minutes goes and the MANAGER comes with new plate. He said he tasted my portion, little bit salty ”but thats the way we greeks do it, here is new WITHOUT any salt” I was almost mind blown by this attitude. And how can they make the casserole in 10 minutes 😅 I Think salty taste came of broth, and now it didnt have it at all, and no other spices as well. Meat was dry. I didnt eat it, as it wasnt what I ordered, told the waiter that no more food please, give me a check.
This MANAGER comes with the food yelling that I play with the kitchen when there is a full house. First of all, I didnt ask the original plate to be returned, and If he retaliates by bringing me plate with no spices and salt, who really is playing?
Tried to get me pay the giouvetsi, I told I pay only half and after few waiters, it was ok..
Other waiters were nice and polite, other food was good. But maybe go somewhere where the manager isn’t a bully. Rodos is full of nice family...
Read moreLeft disappointed. After reading the reviews here, it wasn't what we expected. To start with the good - the service and staff where excellent, friendly and welcoming and very attentive, wine was also amazing, can not fault the service at all. But for the bad - we aren't big compaliners so when three out of 5 of the starters came out chewy and some cold we didn't bother to mention it. However 2 of the mains where bad, very bad. The tuna was a cheaper cut and so overly salted that they couldnt eat hardly any and the beef giouvetsi was left un touched as there was no meat at all just grissle and fat. We told this to the staff and they removed them away as we didn't want replacements. The red snapper risotto was lovely and the deserts were also very good with beautiful presentation. However two of the main dishes that were left un eaten wernt taken off the bill what was disappointing as the staff were notified on the issues and they were hardly eaten from. Also we were not told at the start of the meal that we couldn't pay by card, what would of been nice to know as no one in our group carries cash and some with only phone app payments. A little disappointed on our last night. The showmanship was great but this wasn't a good meal for us. In a some up - venue lovley staff are nice food wasn't great. Maybe just an off night for these...
Read moreWe discovered Mezzaluna on TripAdvisor, and since we were staying in the old town, we decided to visit it on our first night as a welcome dinner.
As a big fan of seafood, I’m always on the lookout for the most delicious options in town. Calamari Dolmades are one of my favorites—hard to cook and hard to serve. Mezzaluna made some of the best Calamari Dolmades I’ve ever had, using fresh sea calamari (you can tell by the aroma) that was perfectly prepared—soft with a perfect filling inside. My family tried other dishes as well, and everything was served and cooked to perfection. The mezes (cold and hot appetizers) complemented the main dishes beautifully. We also tried Ouzo (Plomari) for the first time at Mezzaluna and loved it.
The waitstaff earned our respect; they were friendly and helpful, even during peak hours.
I recommend starting with Ouzo and cold mezes, and then slowly moving on to your main course. The ambiance and quality are top-notch, and I highly...
