I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the dining experience I had at your restaurant on [20/01/2025]. As someone who appreciates fine dining and is willing to pay a premium for quality, I expected the high standards typically associated with prime cuts such as a ribeye steak. Unfortunately, my experience fell short in multiple ways.

I ordered a ribeye steak cooked to medium, but what was served was a well-done steak that was cold and hard. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, instead of receiving an acknowledgment of the mistake or an apology, I was met with excuses. The waiter claimed that the edges of the steak were more cooked and that the steak had become cold due to ventilation—explanations that I found unprofessional and dismissive.

Given the price of 50 euros for a ribeye, I expected not only the meal to be prepared as requested but also a level of service that values customer satisfaction. A sincere apology or the courtesy of not charging for the steak would have demonstrated that your establishment values its patrons and takes pride in delivering a premium experience. While I appreciate the complimentary dessert offered as compensation, it did not adequately address the situation or the disappointment caused.

I believe that providing a high-quality dining experience includes both properly prepared food and a professional approach to handling customer concerns. I hope you will take this feedback constructively to improve service standards and avoid similar situations in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my concerns. I would appreciate a response regarding how you intend to address...

My boyfriend and I ate a late dinner at this restaurant on our final night in Thessaloniki. We had been recommended by our taxi driver, and we’re so excited to get a late night table (circa 10.30pm). 30mins into our dining experience and I would have given you 6/5 stars if I could. Unfortunately I have to let you know that one aspect of the dinner was unbearable to me and that was the flashing lights which accompanied the amazing music and ambience of the venue. So… food: amazing! We shared the zucchini fritters, the calamari and the pork salad to start - delicate and delicious flavours. We then went on to order the famous shrimp pasta and the pulled pork and jam pie - again, the flavours were incredible and the portions very generous - we really enjoyed. Unfortunately somewhere between the first and main courses the lighting arrangement began flashing incessantly. I thought it was just an atmospheric adjustment to wish someone happy birthday at first but then every single track thereafter had the same flashing lights… for 40 minutes until I had to leave the restaurant early whilst my partner paid the bill. It was like a strobe effect and although I am not epileptic, I am sensitive to light (photophobia) and this was an intense and unpleasant dining experience as a result. I really want to leave this feedback because for all the people who loved the lighting display (my boyfriend included!) you’ll have a few people for whom it ruins the meal entirely and sadly I am one of those. Food = 6/5 stars Service = 4/5 stars But….. Lighting = 0/5 stars I would love to eat with you again and enjoy 100% of the experience with no...

We visited the restaurant on September 21st as a party of 4 coming from Athens for Reworks festival. We got a "tirokafteri" spread for which we were told to wait and someone would prepare it in front of us. Unfortunately, although we waited for several minutes, we had to ask again the staff to call someone to finally do it. We also got the "ntakos" which I personally did not try but the rest of the table said it was pretty good, the "white tower" which was excellent, sunny-side up eggs with fries and staka in which the fries were cold and a beef tongue which was also nice. So, after some small errors we were waiting for our mains to come. 3 out of 4 people we ordered something from the grill and the 4th got linguini with shrimps which she indicated was very nice. And then the drama begins: I got a picanha which I asked to be cooked medium and the other two got the pork chops. All our meats had a bitter taste (my brother who is a cook indicated that this is because the grill was too hot when the meat was put on top of it), the picanha was cooked medium well and it was not left to rest before it was cut and as a result all the juices flowed on the plate. On top of that we were not asked from the staff how our food was and when I was looking around to complain, no one bothered to look at me. Judging from the crowd I understood that people mainly come here to be seen and not really enjoy good food. I would personally refrain from going there again and would not recommend, but if you do please stay away from the grilled options (unless they have substituted the griller) and go for the...

An inviting, upscale yet casual setting with superb food and fantastic local wine. *Make a reservation.* Outdoor seating with heat lamps or a gorgeous, cozy interior. Waiters speak English (English menu if you ask). And yes, you will get free Greek liquor in a small carafe at the end (mastiha is sweet and semi thick and fragrant—worth a try). A 1.5-2 hour meal. Order 3-4 dishes for 2 people (€40 each with house wine, which is GREAT). Don’t miss: 🍷 house dry white in unique bottle (€15), grilled 🍆 seasonal vegetables, baked katefi goat cheese with tomato jam (€9.5), seafood stuffed zucchini (€13.5), the white tower cheese with their bread basket, lentil salad with 🦀 crab—really ANY seafood dish. The calamari (€12.5) is the freshest we’ve had in Greece—feels freshly pulled from the sea 🌊 Honorable mentions: beef tongue, pear compote dessert with rose ice cream (would be a “must get” if the pear was served hot), bone marrow. Service is fantastic: Yiannis in particular is so warm & welcoming (even let us order their off-menu dessert)

Mamalouka is a charming place where you can immediately feel that you are in Greece. The ambiance was delightful, even though we arrived for dinner a bit late. We sampled a few dishes, all of which were beautifully presented and full of flavor. The kadaifi with cheese and tomato jam was exceptionally tasty. The Corfu pastitsada was also a highlight—perfectly combining local meat and cheese for a rich, comforting dish. Another standout was the beef carpaccio with pecorino cheese, which was absolutely delicious, and the staff kindly brought it out with great care. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the slow-cooked chicken, as the flavor didn’t quite meet expectations. At the end of the meal, the staff offered us a complimentary glass of mastika, a traditional Greek digestive, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a pleasant experience—until a few hours later, when we experienced some gastrointestinal discomfort, possibly from the beef carpaccio. Despite that, everything else was enjoyable, and the service was warm and attentive.

Mamalouka is a restaurant with a good food and atmosphere where can eat delicious food and have fun The food is really tasty - all of it, especially the octopus, the Tirokafteri salad 🥗 which they are mixing with hot peppers cutting them on the table in front of you - which is really nice! Also the beef cheeks are amazing, melting in your mouth, calamari are really good and tasty. I recommend you also to try the smoked Mackerel fish🐟.👌🏽 The service is good and the waiter don't leave you to miss anything during your stay. The interior is like typically Greek tavern where you can taste typically Greek dishes and not only of course. Their bread is very good and delicious, applause for that! 👏🏽 If you are planning to visit the place is good to call for a reservation, especially during the weekend. The place is becoming like a party place after 23:30 when they dim the lights and DJ starts to play music and everyone starts to party. I like that place and I visit it always when I'm in Tessaloniki for a weekend. 🥂😊
