Fantastic Restaurant: Exceptional Service and Food

We ordered pita bread with spreads, grilled cauliflower, bucatini with seafood, and lamb chops.

The pita and spreads, piping hot and fluffy, wafted the alluring scent of grill marks, providing an impeccable start to our evening. The cauliflower, with its beautiful, straightforward plating, emitted a grilled, smoky scent that assured a slightly crispy texture. Enhanced with lemon zest, salt, and parsley, the meaty texture of the cauliflower was emphasized in this well-executed dish.

The bucatini with seafood was the highlight among the dishes. A piping hot plate with visible steam released a subtle umami hint mixed with the sourness of the tomato-based sauce. The al dente pasta and a slight crunch from the cuttlefish furnished the perfect texture for the dish, embodying the vibrancy of the sea on a plate. Unquestionably one of the best pasta dishes I've experienced, I couldn’t stop indulging. The umami flavor took center stage in this melody, with sourness and sweetness composing a stunning flavor profile. I highly recommend this dish with a 5/5 star rating.

The lamb chop was satisfactory. While grill marks were present, the slices were too thin to preserve any of the lamb’s juice, making it difficult to slice. The mustard sauce leaned toward the sweet side, offering a slightly neutral flavor that complemented the gaminess of the lamb well. Overall flavors are ok and textures on point. Rating: 3.5/5 stars.

The waitstaff were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout...

Unfortunately another tourist like place in Oia. Service is rude, prices excessive for the quality. Food is very average, tried out the chicken souvlaki it was ok.

Let’s talk about facts. A female server with dark shades served us, which we seemed to annoy every time we talked to her.

Before our plates arrived, our table was fully exposed in the sun, which burned our arms and legs. As soon as another table got free, we kindly asked if it was acceptable to move to the table right next to us, which she said we couldn’t do. She most likely didn’t want to swipe our table.

The chicken souvlaki is served with a really small portion of Tzatziki, otherwise the chicken feels really dry. When I asked for a bit more, she wanted to charge us a full portion for 9€ (???) instead of simply giving another a tiny portion to finish my plate.

To finish off, this waiter came up to us and said « are you French? I understood everything you said I have been listening » (???) to make us uncomfortable… who does that?

Finally, when we left, no receipt was given, we had to request it.

If you don’t order drinks, it seems like you are treated as a less important client than others. 20€ for frozen gyros is scandalous.

In a place where there are so many restaurants, it’s quite unfortunate to be served this way. I strongly advise to try another establishment where you are respected properly as a client.

The flavour of the food was beautiful. The meat was incredible, if only the food was hot and the service had have had some thought put into it - both dishes were cold and came out at separate times (about 7-9 minutes apart). If it were not for me sending it back I would have definitely have finished by the time my partner's came out. (It was not busy - we sat to eat at 21:45). Firstly the wine order was wrong, after the second incorrect bottle was offered to us we just accepted it regardless. Then the 'bread and butter' never turned up, and for one person we were charged for two portions (when it eventually turned up - minus the butter ofcourse ... I had dry bread with my main meal - lovely!) . Next after the cold first meal, there were no vegetables, as listed in the menu. Then the second cold meal (cold mash - not really something that is tasty cold.) The veal was also supposed to be medium - it was very rare (blue, even for a good inch in the middle). 85% of these things could have been solved by not putting the food onto a freezing cold plate in the first place I feel 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Absolutely stunning venue though, and really great choice of dishes on the menu! Just such a shame that the service didn't match. If it had have been only one thing I would definitely not be writing this, but the whole combination of the experience was such a shame as our only...
