Beautiful location, but does not feel welcoming to everyone, perhaps if you don’t look like a specific demographic. I chanced upon Mezzo last week when returning from a hike with my group tour, so was in a casual fit & I probably looked worse for the wear too. I went in asked for a coffee in takeaway, which the host / server kindly took my order & had me pay for it upfront, which was fine. They didn’t direct me to any area, so I sat myself down at one of the multiple free tables right at the front. However, after I received the coffee, I asked the same server if it was ok if I sat for a few minutes as I was feeling a bit tired, & the lady surprisingly looked annoyed and reminded me that I had asked for a takeaway, and frowned as she barely said “okay” to it. And even after, as I sat there sipping on my coffee, I spotted her leaning over to look at me, lowkey felt like she took a photo of me too because her phone was angled an odd way and she pocketed it when I turned to look at her. Now I’m a person of color, and through my entire journey in Greece, I was so aware that I was not their common tourist / customer demographic, but it still felt sad that I even remotely felt unwelcome in a restaurant where I was a paying customer. I actually wanted to grab something else to drink but the host / server never came back, so I left. Just want to say, I’ve been to quite a few other food places in Oia & did not see this kind of behavior elsewhere. So if you’re a person of color, I’d recommend you to stay away...
Read moreWe came here three nights in a row during our stay in Santorini. Each night, we ordered their premium hookah and full meals—not cheap, not small. This place is expensive, and we were consistent, paying guests. But from the beginning, the staff gave off an unwelcoming vibe. No warmth, no hospitality—just cold, stuck-up energy. Still, we liked the view and the atmosphere, so we kept coming back. On the third night, after a late lunch, I told the waiter we’d order food a bit later—just like we had every night before. He knew us by then. But he came back and told us we had to order food immediately or leave the table, because “this is one of our best tables.” No flexibility, no respect, just pressure to spend more or get out. We were loyal customers. Three nights in a row. Hookah, food, solid bills. But it clearly didn’t matter. There’s no customer service here. No friendliness. Just overpriced items and staff who act like they’re doing you a favor by letting you sit down. In a place like Santorini, where there are plenty of great spots with real hospitality, this one just isn’t worth your...
Read moreHandsdown the best experience in Santorini!! George, which is our server, was amazing. Very informative and described all of the food in such detail. His service to my wife, and I was the best on the island. Food was as good as Beverly Hills. Ali, Was such the gentleman. I think he may be the owner, but you would never know because of his humility that he showed. At first, I thought he was just a common bus boy. Then I noticed all of the staff would refer to him. The location has beautiful views and as classy as anywhere on the island. If you were looking for a place to enjoy an amazing meal with great customer service and views that can only be seen here in Santorini. This is the place. It was my honour to eat here, and to spend time here on multiple occasions during my honeymoon. Hookah was the best hookah that I have experienced anywhere in the world world. Thank you, Ali and George for such an amazing...
