Bistro Cinq – A High-End Bistro Experience in Antigua
Bistro Cinq delivers a remarkable dining experience that would feel right at home in a high-end bistro in Chicago or New York. Every dish we tried was exceptional, showcasing both culinary expertise and thoughtful presentation.
I ordered the duck l’orange, and it was superb—tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by a rich orange sauce. Well-prepared duck can be hard to find, but this dish exceeded expectations. My wife had the vegetarian lasagna, which was not only delicious but beautifully presented—served on its side, likely rolled before plating. She particularly appreciated this unique touch. Though it was never mentioned, I am certain the pasta was made fresh—the texture and flavor were simply too good for it to be anything else. We also shared the onion soup, which was deeply flavorful and perfectly executed.
The cocktails were excellent, with the Aperol Spritz being particularly refreshing—a perfect complement to the meal.
For English speakers, the language barrier can be a small challenge, but that’s part of the adventure. If you came to Guatemala expecting everything to be easy, you may be in the wrong place—but if you embrace the experience, Bistro Cinq offers a warm and welcoming respite with outstanding food.
Highly recommended—this is a spot worth...
Read moreAfter walking past the Restaurant several times I looked forward to have a dinner there. The place is really cosy and I had high hopes for the food. Even though we had made a reservation the waiter couldn't be bothered showing us our table, so we found a table ourselves. I asked fora glass of red wine and was serve a glass of very cold red wine, which was very strange. We had a descent starter, however the bread was poor quality for a restaurant like this and second time we asked for bread it came burned from the kitchen. We asked for a Risotto and a Steak Frites, however the waiters left the food at the kitchen counter for 10 minutes and at the end they only served it after we asked. Needless to say the food was cold, so we asked them to take it back. After returning the food I tasked the Sauce Bearnaise and this was far from what a Béarnaise sauce should taste like, so I asked to waiter to take it back. He then returned with a new Béarnaise which again was not like what a Béarnaise should taste like. My conclusion then was that this was a french restaurant who doesn't know how to make a sauce Béarnaise and where the waiters despite having a half empty restaurant couldn´t be bothered serving the...
Read moreI was disappointed, I booked this restaurant months in advance and they were supposed to decorate my table for 200Q as I wanted to make a surprise for my boyfriend (the confirmed they would do it) but didn’t do nothing. The service wasn’t very friendly, and the waitress barely answered us when we were asking her some informations about the menu (for example : what is the fish of the day). The food was decent but far to be great, the boeuf bourguignon that is supposed to melt in mouth was hard and dry, the fish’s sauce was super acid. Maybe this place is good for people that aren’t used to good french kitchen, but is far from the french standards. I would advice not to go there, as there are plenty of delicious places to eat in Antigua. The only thing that was actually nice is the mood and the settings, but here again, a lot of other restaurants in Antigua provide nice environment to enjoy...
