I came here the night before my climb to acatenango. I ordered the sopa de gallina, and I wish I hadn't. Normally, I am the type of person who can eat at any mercado, and nothing happens. But I decided to eat something "at a better place " to be safe. While eating it, it appeared delicious, but afterward, I got some food poisoning that didn't allow me to sleep all night before my hike. The place looks quite dark and morbid when you walk in and if it weren't for the Christmas decoration and continually rising hunger levels I would've probably walked right back out. Read moreI couldn't be happier about finding this place. I asked some people about it before going and they all had wonderful things to say about it, so I had to try It myself. Turns out they were all right. I tried Hilachas, and it has to be one of the best soups I've ever tried. It was delicious and SO full of flavors. Im definitely becoming a regular for my whole stay in Antigua.
About the atmosphere, I went at night and it feels like a really cozy candle lit place, with really good music that matches the vibe.
