So happy we stopped here!
We were so warmly welcomed (me and 2 kids under 10) even though it was less than an hour before they closed (bus delayed!). The staff were sweet, friendly, and very patient with our terrible spanish (menus are in both English and spanish though!).
Food was so good! We got mozzarella sticks, pesto pizza and a classic pepperoni. The kids were amazed at the ooey gooeyness of the sticks. The pizzas were wonderful. The peperoni had me remembering pizza in NYC with a different crust. The pesto one was interesting and the flavors worked together so well.
We all loved the sourdough crust. Flavour was great. The bubbly, chewy and slightly chared deliciousness was a huge hit and we may have fought over some if it!
After we ordered we saw the ad for a pumpkin pizza...might be interesting...?
Atmosphere is welcoming family-feels. Great options for seating - just wish they had a patio! But we were so comfy and cozy and really enjoyed our time. My daughter really appreciated the Halloween decor too!
So we left with bellies full and with a full pizza worth of leftovers and 3 incredible pastries for the morning. Croissants "as big as your head mom!"
Highly recommend for a feel good place and full bellies.
(Note: we have to say how much per person in review, but we ordered enough food for 5 people! And special drinks for kids and wine for mom. If you order more sensibly, I think the prices were fair for the location...
Read moreA Diamond in the rough! We were walking to a restaurant only to find out it was closed. I noticed this cozy little pizza place as I walked by earlier. So I suggested we just stop by and give it a try. It was kind of late for a Sunday 8-9PM when we stopped by. The space is small but was able to accommodate 8-10 people no issues. Lots of us ordered pizza. I ordered a coke to go with the pizza and amazingly they served those glass bottles cokes!! Huge plus!! So the pizza finally comes out, I asked mine to be cooked extra crispy, and you can already tell it was perfectly cooked. First bite, BOOM. I was in heaven. Crunch after crunch it was amazing. The crust was thin and crunchy, the cheese and pepperoni used were definitely quality. I was not expecting this level of pizza in Guatemala. Pizza gets an 8.7/10. A full 10/10 for serving ice cold glass bottled coke! I will...
Read moreI am a little ambivalent about this one.
Pros: sourdough napoletan-style pizza across the Atlantic nice variety within the menu
However, the execution lacks a bit. I mean, producing sourdough and especially sourdough pizza is way harder in Guatemala compared to Europe / US - consider sourcing the ingredients and also consumer-preferences. But still, they use instant Parmesan, a Margherita is not the Margherita Italian-style, they basically have 1 sourdough bread only...
Still 5 stars because it is the best I have seen in Guatemala pizza-wise, but compared to the "real deal",...
