There are places in this world that do more than serve — they elevate.
1000TEA is such a place. It is not merely a tea bar, but a sanctuary, a space where the simplicity of a cup of tea becomes a gateway to something far greater: connection, reflection, and wonder.
From the moment one crosses the threshold, there is a palpable shift. The air seems lighter, the energy, serene yet vibrant. The ambiance is a perfect harmony of the familiar and the extraordinary, a delicate balance that whispers: “Stay. Be present.” The design of the space, at once atypical and inspired, draws you in, offering an experience that feels deeply personal yet universally resonant.
The menu is not merely a list but an invitation, an ode to the artistry of tea. Each offering is described with such care that one does not simply choose a tea but embarks on a journey. It was here that I discovered a ginseng-infused tea, a revelation in itself. Its flavors, complex yet grounding, spoke to something deeper within me, a reminder of life’s richness found in the simplest moments.
And then, there are the stewards of this sacred space: the staff. Their warmth is not performative, but genuine. Their attentiveness is not hurried, but deliberate. To be in their care is to feel seen, heard, and valued.
1000TEA is more than a place to drink tea; it is a place to be. It invites stillness, encourages presence, and reminds us that in a world so often chaotic, there are sanctuaries like this where one can return to the essence of life’s beauty.
To those seeking not just refreshment but renewal, I cannot recommend 1000TEA enough. It is a place to sit with yourself, to discover flavors and truths, and to leave just a little more whole than when...
Read moreI'd come here during the year I lived in BP, and was stunned by the way the staff would treat me.
What started off, as the usual cold, rude attitude that are not unfamiliar to non-natives in Budapest, I did begin to notice these people would glare at me, and visibly display disgust when I would visit here with friends over my time living in BP.
Towards the end of my time in BP, I had to ask what their issue was. They seemed to want to blame me for interacting with them, and suggested I was in the wrong for trying to speak to them. This created a very unpleasant argument. There were no customer service skills displayed, and the level of emotional maturity on show from the staff, was incredibly disappointing. A lack of consideration and understanding.
After reflection, I am writing this review just to warn people who are travelling, that the folks running this place evidently have some ignorance and negative views of foreigners.
If you're treated badly by these people, know that it IT's NOT YOU. Whatever their personal problems are, are down to them, and their own ignorance.
For the staff. Please reflect, and learn how to treat other people. Please try to learn empathy, and treat others, as you would want to be treated yourself.
You're very rude, inconsiderate, and frankly, it is a real...
Read moreI love the place and the tea I usually go there but today I had a terrible experience with the waitresses! We (4girls) ordered 2 teas and while ordering me and my friend told several times that we want the tea with oat milk (I am allergic to diary). Everyone in our group heard it too. Then the girl brought the tea and as usual I always ask to make sure whether both are really with oat milk. She said no this is with diary, as we didn’t say. We told her no we told it, and she rolled her eyes, huffed at us and went with the big attitude taking the tea back.
The next tea wasn’t coming for 25 minutes or longer and when the next waitress came I was asking when we can expect the tea and she didn’t even listen and started saying that we said to change the tea after order, we should wait, etc and she was quite defensive with attitude as well!
noone even said sorry, and they were with attitude till the end even when they brought the new tea!
all 4 of us in the table were in shock! i have never seen this kind of bad attitude in Budapest at all and 1000 tea was all of our favourite place!
we went there to chill and relax, but it quite ruined our mood. we should have...
