I hadn't been back to Bangla Buffe Premium since before the pandemic, and now the depressed local currency and high inflation in Hungary seem to have unfortunately adversely affected the quality of the food here.
The garlic chicken tikka was overcooked to the point where it was almost inedible, and the garlic nan must have been sitting around for a long time, as it was all dried out and at room temperature. I suspect that with the extremely high gas prices in Hungary now, it is too costly to keep the tandoori oven running all day, and so items that need to be cooked this way are all pre-cooked at once when the restaurant opened for the day, and then they turn it off for the rest of the day. Then they reheated the chicken and the bread in a microwave oven or other device, which resulted in the over cooking and dryness.
Even the stove-cooked items we ordered, the aloo gobbi and vegetable biryani, while tasty and well prepared, were of lesser quality, the former containing mostly potato with little cauliflower and the latter containing mostly carrots.
I cannot blame the owners for this situation, and they are not alone in facing the challenge of serving quality food at reasonable prices while their overhead costs are increasing dramatically. Unfortunately, this will likely have the effect of disappointing their customers, too, which could easily spiral down to an unhappy ending...
Read moreThis place used to be pretty decent, but it has been plagued for quite sometime with issues like items missing from orders, decrease in food quality, and extremely rude customer service. The last occurrence of something missing from my delivery was the last straw. I confirmed with the NetPincer delivery person before he left that items were indeed missing from my order. He then sent a confirmation to his dispatch. I also called the restaurant and had to tell the very rude person I spoke with at this location 3-4 times that my chicken curry was missing only for him to tell me that his cooks remember including it with this order. He repeatedly interrupted me and spoke over me after attempts at being polite and patient to try and come to a solution. After all of this and basically being called a liar he told me that I would have to make a note and they will include it on my next order. I will not be ordering here anymore after this experience. I’ve always been patient in dealing with mistakes when things like this have happened before but this was a blatant disregard for a repetitive problem they refuse to admit or fix. There are actually better Indian places within a block radius from their location and much better places to order from online. Do...
Read moreWe were there and had a meal. We order the butter chicken and the chicken vindaloo. First of All, the food was Ok - the chicken vindaloo was spicy, but it was Not to spicy. On that day, we had to wait because there was a lot of business, which we understood. Unfortunatelly, my Drink order was wrong. The prices are only for the Main dish (meat and sauce) so you had to order All the side dishes extra. That makes it more expensive. We had assumed that the rice would be inclued. The main dishes are all between 1600-2300 ft - which is super expensive compared to other Restaurants. The sides Costa extra and the amound for that price was Not acceptable. The main was 4 pices of meat and less vegetables but a lot of sauce. (Like a soup) We ordered 3 Naan breads, which were really fresh and we enjoyed it. Another point I want to meantion is the mango chutney: It didn t tasted fresh (More like a convinence one) and I found a hair inside the chutney. All in all, I woudn t recommend the restaurent because of the price Level. I would pay the same price for better food and place (place was ok but More like a takeaway with tables). I think we won t come back. Sorry guys, but i was...
