Kaptafa Brunch — Restaurant in Budapest

We didn't even have the chance to try the food because it took more than one hour to get a couple of toasts and eggs. They didn't tell us it was going to take so long and they didn't explain why.

There was another group next to us that also had to leave without their food because it was taking so long. There are other reviews that mention similar situations like what happened to us.

After one hour waiting for our food they told us we had to wait 13 minutes more, so we just left.

*EDITED - REPLY TO OWNER: Thank you for the apologies, but we weren't offered anything. The only thing that happened after we decided to leave is that the staff brought us the bill to pay what we had drunk while we were waiting.

Also, we weren't waiting to be seated, we were just waiting for our food...

This place is a huge disappointment. I guess the owners just paid for 5 star reviews. Otherwise, there's no explanation for good overall ranking. We waited for a granola plate for app. 1 hour! And even longer for a sandwich. The waitress confused orders and served it to someone else first. it's really ridiculous, she couldn't afterwards understand who actually ordered it. (there are like only 8 tables in this place). The portions are smaller than one could expect. "fresh" orange juice contained more water and ice than orange. No one asked if I want with ice ( anyone would prefer to pay for fresh juice rather than ice?!). 2 other tables in the same area had similar problems. The table that ordered last got the order first! Awfully low service. Keep away...

We stumbled on this place while wondering through streets of Budapest. It was really hard to get seat here because it's small place (but really nice) and not many people can seat inside but i have to give kudos to amazing stuff which were really helpful and friendly that asked us to wait just a little bit while someone is leaving so we had to stay and wait!

As i said its really nice place with nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but for my taste coffee was nothing special (it was too roasted and strong for me) and "CPR" sandwich was really dry when you read in description that should be full of cheeses. Prices are also a little bit high for the amount of food you get honestly...

I would definately come again here next time when I'm in Budapest and in...
