Average Experience at Best Bagel Basilica in Budapest recently visited Best Bagel Basilica in Budapest, and I have to say that my experience was rather average. Despite the hype surrounding this place, it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
Let's start with the bagel itself. I ordered the avocado bagel, but unfortunately, they forgot to include the avocado. This was quite disappointing, as it was one of the main reasons I chose that particular bagel. The bagel itself was decent, but nothing extraordinary. It lacked the freshness and flavor that I had anticipated. I have actually made better bagels at home, which was a bit underwhelming considering the reputation of this place.
In terms of taste, the bagel was just okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't wow me either. The ingredients didn't seem to be of the highest quality, and the overall flavor profile was rather average. For the price I paid, I expected a more exceptional taste experience.
One aspect that was particularly disappointing was the limited seating options. The restaurant was very small, and there were hardly any seats available. This made it quite challenging to find a comfortable spot to enjoy my bagel. It felt cramped and crowded, which took away from the overall dining experience.
On the positive side, the service at Best Bagel Basilica was friendly and efficient. The staff was attentive and took my order promptly.
In conclusion, I would give Best Bagel Basilica in Budapest a three-star rating. While the bagel was not terrible, it didn't meet the high expectations set by its reputation. The forgotten avocado and the overall mediocre taste were disappointing. The limited seating options and cramped atmosphere further detracted from the experience. I have had better bagels at home, and for the price, I expected a more exceptional...
Read moreAbsolutely not worth it. The service and atmosphere are ok but the quality of the food is sub par.
I understand that it is a pricier place because of the location and that’s fine. The bagel however does not live up to the hype and price.
I had the salmon & avocado one and the produce used in the bagel was fine however the bagel itself was as plain as a whiteboard.
It was not fluffy, not flavourful or anything that would give it any taste. As if eating cardboard with cream cheese.
The very least they could do is sprinkle some salt on that bagel before baking it.
In addition to that I understand that a plain tasteless bagel could work well in combination with some stronger flavour of the produce but the place does not offer the option to choose a different bagel other than a plain one.
Not worth the money. If they start providing other options for bagels that would be great.
The star of the dish should be the bagel not the salmon you got from Tesco.
Furthermore, they hand you out a flier with each order where they incentivise you to leave them a good review and in return you get a free muffin. This makes me question some of the good...
Read moreSaw this place all over internet, so I had to try their bagels. Ordered the classic with avocado, salmon, and cream cheese, just asked to remove tomato and salad because I don’t eat veggies. Simple, right? Apparently not. The girl at the counter gave me the nastiest side-eye, like I personally offended her by customizing my order. She even hit me with the “okay, I understand” in that shut up already tone When I came back to pick it up, she handed it over with zero smile And of course, surprise! There was tomato in my bagel. When I pointed it out, she started yelling and called her coworker To top it all off, when she came outside to clean the tables, she threw stuff around. If you’re having such a bad day, maybe stay home instead of taking it out on paying customers? the bagel was actually really good. Maybe they should let it do the talking, because the...
