Wouldn’t recommend – maybe just for a beer, at best.
We ordered two beers and a traditional schnitzel with potatoes. The beer was genuinely good – cold, fresh, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The food was terrible. The potatoes were okay, but the meat was awful. The meat was oddly dark, tasted old, and had a strong flavour of oil that clearly hadn’t been changed in a while. We were really hungry, so we started eating right away, but each bite was worse than the last.
We mentioned the issue to the staff, but they did absolutely nothing to make it right – no apology, no effort to improve the experience. We paid the full bill, including service charge.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re just stopping by for a quick beer.
Thank you for your response and clarification.
You are correct that the dish was veal; however, I believe this does not change the core issue — a properly prepared schnitzel, regardless of the type of meat, should be tender and juicy. In my opinion, the meat was unfortunately tough, and the taste suggested it had been fried in oil that was not fresh.
I would also like to point out that the suggestion we raised our concerns in order to receive a free meal is inappropriate and unfair. We are people who appreciate good cuisine and respect the work of others.
To be honest, what disappointed us more than the dish itself was the attitude of the staff. The lack of empathy and the eye-rolling response, instead of a simple “I’m sorry,” left us with a negative impression. Had the situation been handled with more understanding, this exchange likely would not have been necessary.
Nevertheless, I sincerely wish you all the best and continued success with...

This bistro has all the potential to deliver a lovely dining experience — a solid menu featuring both local specialties and bistro classics, paired with a good selection of wines. However, depending on who serves you, your visit could go either way.
We ordered a bottle of white wine, a cold platter to share, and an authentic Hungarian goulash. Unfortunately, our evening started off on the wrong foot due to the disinterested and clearly unmotivated waitress assigned to our table. She lacked any effort to engage, support or even maintain basic attentiveness.
What made it worse was that two other tables who arrived after us were served both drinks and food before us. After waiting far too long, I went inside to voice our concern. To her credit, her colleague apologized for the miscommunication and promptly brought out the wine, followed shortly by the food.
The presentation of the Hungarian goulash deserves praise. They bring the solid ingredients in a bowl and then pour the broth over it at the table from a separate pot — a nice and theatrical touch. The freshly baked bread served alongside was also delicious.
What pleasantly surprised us at the end was that the main dishes were removed from the bill as a gesture of goodwill — a classy move that helped ease our initial frustration.
Still, for our first dinner in Hungary, the beginning of the evening was far from what we had hoped. This experience reflects why I feel four stars are fair: the food and final service recovery were great, but the inconsistency and poor service at the start took away from the...
Read moreAs mentioned in previous reviews, the food here is good but the service is unfortunately poor. Our early evening dinner experience started really well with a friendly welcome from the waiter and 2 very good beers delivered while we looked at the menu. We ordered mains- which were both excellent - and more drinks. All delivered promptly and by friendly staff, who also checked we were happy with everything. We were impressed and so happy for our choice on the first night of our holiday. Then everything changed, the restaurant got busier and the service just dropped out. We ordered desserts and coffee, after 25 minutes we asked the waitress about our order, she went to check and then told us that they just needed to warm our desserts up! We ordered cake and pancakes plus 2 coffees! The couple next to us ordered after us and received 2 courses with drinks before we got our coffees. After a further 10 minutes we requested the bill and cancelled the desserts. We received no apology, we were told the desserts were ready but we were well past them by then. The bill was delivered promptly with a 15% service charge added. We considered asking for it to be removed but the food warranted a tip. We obviously wouldn’t go back, but can confirm the food is good- just hope you get it. Such a shame for the start of our holiday. Incidentally we noticed other customers were encouraged to leave reviews on social media-...
