Momotaro is the only authentic and incredibly good Chinese restaurant I am aware of in Budapest. I've been there at around 2005 and have never forgotten their beef and broccoli dish, it was that incredble. For some reason I was under the impression that they closed but I recently discovered that I was wrong and they were still open and to my biggest surprise and culinary pleasure they still had the beef and broccoli dish so my friend took that while I ordered their Momotaro beef and oh my dear god, I've been ADDICTED to this dish ever since. It's even better than the beef with broccoli, I can't emphasise enough how incredible that dish was to my taste buds. Oddly, it has a strong scent of vinegar, but when you taste it, that vinegar taste is not there, just pure pleasure and a mix of amazingly harmonious and beautiful umami aromas with a perfect tinge of chili. I want to eat this every day forever hahaha! Everyone should try this dish at least once, and their beef broccoli as well. Oh and their shrimp dim sum is exceptionally good as well. Another important point about Momotaro is that they've been in business for a very long time which is a rarity these days. The Hungarian waiter is the best and most attentive person one can wish for. Very well done to Momotaro, thank you very much and I can't wait to go back again for my Momotaro...

I was a bit disappointed to see that things have changed. I didn't really feel the Japanese vibe anymore, despite the name of the restaurant. The food was expensive for the quality and I felt embarrassed for having to ask whether our waiter speaks Hungarian, for which the answer was no. We switched to English so there was no problem. The wine was good, though, despite the fact that they didn't have what we originally...
Read moreAs a Chinese, I have to say it's the worst Chinese food I have ever tried. All of the portions are extremely small and horrible taste. They don't even want to properly cut the vegetables, vegetables are in large pieces and not being well cooked. The pidan tofu was flavored by sweet soya source. Seriously?! The spicy seaweed was flavored by sweet chili sauce. They don't even want to cook, just mix all the simple ingredients together. I am going to throw up again when I'm talking about the worst...
