The service was excellent. Despite having to order at the bar at the front, they were very friendly and patient, with great recommendations and a lot of energy. They did not let the stress of a busy night get to them, and constantly had a smile on their faces! Definitely made the experience even better.

The drinks were great: the lime margarita was a bit too bitter for my liking, but the paloma was incredible! It felt like it was made at a cocktail bar, with an excellent presentation and a great ratio of alcohol and fruity flavours. Even if there were many people when we went, the food came quite quickly, and we were shocked by the portion sizes! We are so used to the small quantities we get at other Mexican restaurants in Budapest, so we were pleasantly surprised when we saw how much was on a plate (not complaining about it though!).

The fish tacos were unfortunately over-salted, but I liked the mixture of fresh tomato and guacamole in the taco which gave it a nice balance of flavours. The shrimp tacos were, needless to say, excellent! Amazing and fresh, which is hard to find when it comes to seafood in Budapest. We also ordered the beef nacho bowl, which had very generous portions of cheese, beef and beans all harmonically balanced and the Mexicanita special. It included an aged fillet with a very rich, delicious sauce, a side of tomato salsa, a nice salad (I thoroughly enjoyed the sweet seasoning that it had), platano and corn on a stick. The steak, although delicious at first, was a bit too salty after a few bites, and the corn was lacking flavour, although this did not stop us from having an excellent night.

We will definitely come back to try more of the dishes of TacoBar (and many more drinks, of course)! I highly recommend it, especially if you're craving some good tacos.

Edit: Having visited several other times, I have to give this place 5 stars across the board, as they have constantly kept up the incredible quality of the food and have maintained excellent customer service throughout all of my meals there! Pulled pork tacos have become a personal favourite of mine, and I would also recommend having the quesadillas. Very friendly staff all around and amazing Mexican food. This place has without a doubt become a personal favourite of mine...

THE BEST TACOS IN BUDAPEST.

While the price for 2 tacos seems high, it's pretty standard for Budapest currently, and there's no place you'll get a better taco.

The margaritas are great (we had a lime mezcal margarita and a pineapple habanero margarita). Tap water was given without charge, when asked 😊

Shrimp tacos were amazing. At first, we thought the tortillas might not actually be homemade, since they're very symmetrical and almost identical and do have some marking on them making them seem manufactured. But the quality was excellent, so we think they probably have a tortilla machine instead of hand-pressing them. (Not a problem at all!)

Order at the bar and they bring food and drinks to your table. A 12% service fee is added, which is properly stated on the menu. The receipt says "tips are appreciated" (I'm sure they are), however I don't usually tip on top of service fees.

The decor makes the atmosphere shine, and everything — including the bathrooms — is decked out with fabulous design.

I'll be back for sure (when my...

Röviden csalódás. Hosszabban kifejtem lejjebb.

Látszólag nincsenek a helyzet magaslatán.

A kosarakat valami szebb megoldásra kéne lecserélni.

Best tacos in Budapest? No. Best Mexican food in Budapest? No. Went to see by myself and was disappointed. I'd recommend this place to those who would like to grab a bite before a night out are not after pleasing their palate. Given the location, the price and portions are understandable but if someone is looking for some nice Tex-Mex or Mexican food, there are other better options (after leaving the place, we had to go somewhere else because we were really craving for some good or at least close to authentic Mexican food). The menu is on the table but it doesn't specify what the ingredients for each dish are. Plus, it's necessary to go an order at the counter which makes little sense as a service is charged in the bill. I ordered a strawberry and basil lemonade but it was too sweet for a lemonade. The tortillas, beans and everything else seemed fresh but the shredded pork tasted like canned food. Altogether, the place was nice, the employees were nice but the food wasn't to our liking.
