Overview
On a recent visit to Okay Italia, I was charmed by its cozy, rustic ambiance. It felt like the perfect spot for a casual treat, though my experience had a few surprising twists.
Atmosphere and Ambiance
The restaurant’s atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a rustic touch that creates a sense of comfort. It is an ideal setting for a casual outing or a relaxed evening. However, while the ambiance was delightful, the service left a bit to be desired.
Evaluate the Food
I decided to indulge in a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. The dessert was a highlight of the visit, being rich, flavorful, and well-balanced, leaving a lasting impression. The menu also offers a decent variety of options, catering to various tastes.
Comment on the Service
Unfortunately, the service did not quite match the quality of the food. The server seemed confused and distracted, almost as though she were from another world. When I requested a 0.75L water, she insisted they only had 750ml, not realizing it was the same amount. While this moment was frustrating, I tried to overlook it and remind myself that not everyone excels at their role.
Consider the Price
The prices were on the higher side, which might make it more suitable for an occasional treat rather than a regular visit. While the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance somewhat justified the cost, it might not be the best option if you are looking for budget-friendly dining.
Final Thoughts and Recommendation
Overall, my experience at Okay Italia was good, despite the hiccup in service. I would recommend it for those looking for a cozy, casual spot with delicious desserts. Just be prepared to exercise a little patience with the staff...
Read more!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!!!! I would like to start off by saying they definitely changed their staff compared to a few years ago. Everything was okay at first, until the waiter (a young short-haired gentleman who I added a photo of) came up to our table. He started off with quite a smug, rude tone which definitely set the mood for the following. We went with two kids, so we assumed they would try to at least slightly cater to the children (smaller cups etc.), but they did not. The cup they gave the kids was the size of their head and in no world can a child drink out of it. I asked him if he could switch them to smaller cups, and he refused and told us to make it work. We asked him to give us our food at the same time and he brought everyone’s food but the children’s, which obviously made them a little upset, so i asked him to go get the kids food as well which to he SIGHED and said “we can’t fit this much pasta in the pasta cooker at this time”, which i understand but he could’ve done this more politely. When he asked if we wanted to pay, and we said not yet he threw the atm to the bar girl and angrily walked into the kitchen. This was when we decided we are never going here again. When we tried to complain, the other server said “this isn’t an italy, it’s hungary stop acting like we are a premium restaurant, for these prices don’t expect perfect service”. This restaurant was RUINED by the staff. Good food, horrible staff. Absolutely disrespectful. Do not ever...
Read moreWe've been at ok italia in west end mall. We've ordered fresh lemonade and got some sort of orange soda. They insisted to charge us for this awful drink although we only tasted it a bit. Later, we've got a well done steak although we've asked a rare steak. After the incident with the soda we were embarrassed to complain again. Anyhow, when I mentioned it when we got the bill, they were supprised why we did not say anything/complain about it... this was such a ridiculous statement. After we became really angry about the service the manager called his manager on the phone to offer us 10% discount for not writing this opinion. I did not came into a restaurant for 10% discount. I came for a good time, a good meal and a good service. I almost forgot to mention that the food taste and quality is much below average. We did not get any bread although we asked to get one. My meal included a nut shell that could brake my teeth or get me chalked. It is not over yet, 5 minutes after we got into the restaurant my 5 years boy got asleep and I needed to hold him on my hands. We asked to seat on the sofa behind. We were told that these tables were reserved. Until we got out of the restaurant, no one got that sit. Last, when got out we told this rude waiter that we are going to publish this awful experience in TripAdvisor. With a vicious smile he told us that, this restaurant is not included in tripadvisor. But guess what, its there - ...
