Ribster Westend amerikai étterem — Restaurant in Budapest

On the evening of Sept. 12th, I went to Ribster (West End City Center location) for the first time with some friends. It was a disappointment. The appetizer of hot chicken wings was good, but that was the highlight of the meal. I ordered the mustard beef short ribs. They were too fatty, too much sauce and not much flavor in the meat itself. Meat falling off the bone is good, but under the knife and fork everything fell apart to the point where it was just a big blob on my plate and I absolutely could not tell what was fat, what was meat and what was sauce. It was all congealed into an unidentifiable mass. My buddy ordered the Texas pork ribs and they seemed to be better. More integrity to the meat. I tried one and it was reasonably good. Also, my other three friends ordered burgers and chicken quesadilla and they said it was very good. So maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

The coleslaw was “meh” and the fries tasted old. Like not fresh at all. I ordered the cheesecake and even that was “meh”. The consistency was good, but it was somehow lacking in flavor. It was like a neutral-flavored cheesecake.

On top of all this, service was slow (even though the restaurant was not crowed at all) and the prices were relatively high. Appetizer, main course, dessert, two beers, service charge and tip for one person came to HUF 25,000, about USD 75. I just felt it wasn’t good value for...

Terrible customer service. We came with my husband for coffee and dessert on a Monday evening when the restaurant was completely empty. We wanted to sit at a table with sofas. The waiter wouldn't let us and offered us a small place with chairs. I can understand such service when the restaurant is reserved or there are a lot of people. But here there were 80% of free seats and our request was not taken into account. Why? Moreover, we moved to a table with couches and the waiter came up to us and offered to "sit at the bar". When the restaurant has free comfortable sofas without reserve, why should we sit on chairs? It's also 15% service. We're...

Our waiter was named Peter. Food was terrible, the waiter is incompetent, ignorant and inattentive. They are not customer friendly. They previously got so bad reviews in the first 9 reviews that they now have a duplicate of the same restaurant to avoid the bad reviews. Of course the reviews changed but the service that deserved these reviews are the same. I honestly can’t believe this is an American restaurant. From ordering the food, we waited exactly 1 hour for the food to arrive, we thought of leaving but we waited too much to leave. The waiter tried charging us something we didn’t order.
