What can I say? The restaurant premises are fabulously beautiful, so for the atmosphere 5, that’s all. Price/quality ratio 3 points. A little heads up for those who are traveling to Budapest to relax, like we did. Don't eat there. Drink coffee or tea or something alcoholic, take a cake, but don't have lunch like we did. So, service. We reserved a table in advance. Otherwise, we wouldn't get in. In principle, ok, considering the beauty of the place and those who want to get there. I was pleasantly surprised by the smile and friendliness of the waiter. But. ...In the entire establishment, they place cutlery directly on the granite table! Next, our dishes were served to us while we washed our hands, we were not present. We came back and our main courses are standing and getting cold! Friends, this is too much of a tourist trap. There is etiquette, after all! Next, price - quality. We ordered a bottle of champagne, Karpati style Pike perch fillet, Budapest style beef Tenderloin, and dessert from the special menu. The pike was disgusting, frozen, fried, and the side dish was not tasty, as if something had been reheated yesterday, but maybe it was?! We paid about 50 euros for this dish. The beef cost about the same, but it was delicious. The dessert was not particularly impressive, something small and expensive. The prices are very high for this quality of food. Hence the conclusion, a purely tourist place, designed for traffic. I wish you not to fall for this. Budapest has very beautiful and delicious restaurants, with fresh food, and great service that is much cheaper. Again, you can visit the place for the beautiful atmosphere and order a cup of coffee, it’s hard to ruin it.

When we arrived the front hotel staff were nice to us. However when we go to the restaurant to be seated the didn’t check our reservation, led us to a table for 4 with a missing chair, didn’t take our coats to the hanger then brought menus. Within a few minutes they were back to take our order which we weren’t ready for so they returned and we both ordered the French onion soup to start and 1 of us ordered the crispy duck leg and the other the magalica chop. We were also brought no bread for the table even tho we were brought a plate and knife for bread? The soup arrived and was the highlight of the meal a good deep flavour and a large portion, however the staff didn’t return to check if everything was okay. Once the soup was finished we waited in our mains, the duck had good flavour but was very sloppily presented kind of thrown on the plate and the chicken dish lacked flavour and the chicken was tough and over cooked. When the staff came to collect the plates they asked what we thought of the meal and we explained we were dissatisfied and they said okay then proceeded to ignore us for 20 minute until we had to go up and ask the staff who were all standing talking to each other for the bill to leave as we no longer wanted to sit and wait. Overall very disappointing. The building is nice but a walk through would have been more than enough.

A First-Date Experience Like No Other: Mario’s Unmatched Service Made It Perfect August 2024 Having traveled extensively and experienced dining at some of the most renowned restaurants worldwide, I can confidently say that Párisi Passage Restaurant in Budapest offers an unparalleled dining experience. But what truly made this evening stand out was not only the stunning ambiance and delicious food but the exceptional service provided by Mario. His dedication to making this the best first date I’ve ever had was truly remarkable.

Atmosphere

The moment we entered Párisi Passage, we were mesmerized by the elegance of the setting. The fusion of historical architecture and modern luxury created an enchanting atmosphere perfect for a romantic evening. The soft lighting, beautiful interior design, and subtle music set the ideal tone for our night.

Mario: The True Star of the Evening

But what truly elevated this evening was Mario. His exceptional service went far beyond typical dining experiences, ensuring every detail was perfect. His knowledge of the menu and dedication to providing a personalized experience stood out from the moment we sat down. Mario suggested the traditional Hungarian soup as a starter, which was a delightful and hearty introduction to the meal.

For the main course, he recommended the steak with mushrooms and potatoes, a dish that was simply outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection, with the tender mushrooms and perfectly seasoned potatoes complementing the flavors beautifully. His ability to gauge our preferences and tailor the experience was flawless, making sure that each dish suited our tastes perfectly.

Service Beyond Expectations

Mario’s level of care and attention to detail was exceptional. He wasn’t just a server—he was a true host. Throughout the evening, he checked in at just the right moments, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. He handled every aspect of our meal with professionalism, warmth, and grace, making us feel completely taken care of.

What makes Mario unique is his passion for creating memorable experiences. He took the time to engage with us, offered valuable insights into Hungarian cuisine, and even shared local tips for exploring Budapest. His genuine desire to make the night special for us was evident in every gesture, from recommending the best dishes to ensuring our table had the best view in the house. This level of dedication and care is what turns a simple dinner into an extraordinary experience.

Food and Experience

The food was nothing short of exceptional. The traditional Hungarian soup was a comforting and flavorful start, and the steak with mushrooms and potatoes was masterfully prepared. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill, and Mario’s recommendations were spot on. While the food was indeed superb, it was Mario’s ability to elevate the entire experience that made the night truly unforgettable.

Mario’s Personal Touch

What truly sets Mario apart is his ability to create an experience that feels both personal and extraordinary. He ensured that our evening was tailored to our preferences and went out of his way to add thoughtful touches that made the night special. He even surprised us with complimentary extras that added a layer of delight to the experience. His professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail are unmatched, making him an invaluable asset to Párisi Passage.

Conclusion

In all my years of traveling and dining around the world, I have never experienced service quite like this. Mario’s dedication to excellence and his passion for hospitality transformed what could have been a simple dinner into an unforgettable first date. The combination of delicious food, a stunning atmosphere, and Mario’s extraordinary effort created a night that will stay with me forever.

If you’re ever in Budapest, Párisi Passage Restaurant is a must-visit, and if you’re lucky enough to have Mario as your server, you’re in for an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Mario, for making our night...

We really impressed about this restaurant with the great historical theme and live music. That is why I and my husband purposely to go there have some dessert though we were full after our full meal.

When we stepped in the restaurant tonight around 8:45 pm, a female staff came and led us to sit inside section. I politely to ask her can we sit outside so we can listen to the live band. I saw there are some empty tables . She said the outside seating is only for the dinner not for the dessert customers. I ask if she can handle it flexible, as it seems the chances to fill up that few small tables are very low towards to that time close to 9 pm. This female staff is rude to tell us no. Then we followed her to sit inside. I saw 2 tables inside that is close to the live music bands still not cleaned up yet, then I ask this female staff can we sit there. She showed very impatiently to talk to me that we can’t sit. And then a waitress came , this female staff was talking to the waitress use their language to look at me impolitely. The waitress responded to this female staff by showing a facial expression to me. I truly feel this female staff look down and belittle us with my strong feeling. I really feel such a beautiful restaurant in a 5 stars international chain hotel to hire such a staff is truly a shamefully experience. How can that happen a staff dare to show such ill and impolite behavior to the customer by insulting behavior in a such well known restaurant in Budapest!

I hope the management of the restaurant could investigate and follow up closely what happened tonight. We feel insult and unhappy. Eventually we left and no order anything .

Thank you for the follow up . Today’s date : May 7 Time: Around...
