As of today October 4th, 2023 around 2pm in the afternoon. I ordered a hot drink and picked up at the counter but the hot drink didn't come with the sleeve. At the time the counter didn't have any person and i waited awhile to see if anyone can help me while staring at the sleeve right in front of me. Since no one came helping me I reached to grab one sleeve for my hot drink and put it on my coffee cup then the female staff yelled at me and said I cannot do that. I asked what cannot I do and she said I cannot take the sleeve in the counter. I said I am sorry I didnt know it's my first time in Hungary and I waited there for awhile but no one wanted to help me and the sleeve is really just in front of me I don't know that's the area I cannot reach, while in the US and Canada we normally just grab it. She said Europe doesn't work like that and I told her that but I just came from Prague and Vienna and I did the same but no one said anything. She immediately said that then Budapest doesn't work like that.... I was so shocked and felt really bad when i heard that and I was like so what do you want me to do I cannot unwind the time and put it back or anything, she just wanted to blame me and be angry at me. I told her I do not appreciate the attitude and she spoke in Hungarian to her other Barista and then I left.
The male, tall, probably around 6’2 with dark beard, is taller than me came out from the back and looked for me. He asked me what happened and I told him what happened and he said I cannot do that and I should apologize to his colleague right away... and then he bulked up his chest and stood really close to me and threatened me like he can really hurt me if I do not apologize to his colleague. He also asked me why am i like this and I said like what, he then said like this, I asked what is this, he said angry. I said I am not angry but is he angry and then he asked me to leave.
And then the female manager came out (around 5'8) and asked me about what happened. The male manager immediately started speaking Hungarian to her even before I said something so i said if he wants to say something he can say it in English, then he stopped and the female manager said she is listening to me to know about what happened. I explained to her what happened and she apologized for what happened and I also told her if she saw the male manager came up to me like that and she said she did. I told her that it is life threatening and asked if i should call police, she said no need to call police and she will compensate. Meanwhile, the male manager sitting down on the side said "I am taller than you" and i asked the female manager if bulking up his chest and walked really close to me is ok. She said no and apologized again. I was very scared and really wanted to call police but the female manager stopped me. I don't think anyone should use violence just because they are taller. It was not safe for sure and I wonder what he would do if the female manager didn’t came out. I didn’t take anything and left because I worried that the guy would actually harm me and look for me or even follow me .
I dont know how Starbucks have someone like this and I do not understand the way he handled the case. Is violence simply the way here? or threatening? I cannot possibly think that i would get threatened in a Starbucks, it would not have happened in the US, and I cannot believe how unsafe Starbucks can be here. I tried to get names or employee numbers of the people but they refuse to provide anything but free drinks....I don't even want drinks I just want to know why threatening me? Now I am so traumatized by Starbucks here and i have to worry that maybe he will jump out somewhere in Budapest, how can i enjoy my...
Read moreMost worst customer service mind Starbucks in tourist spot. After ordered a Frappuccino, just realized my phone was dying and power bank didn’t work too. So checked with one cashier guy if he might help to charge for a short while. As I need the google map to be back to hotel. Such a small help, the guy just lied that all the sockets in the shop can’t work for IPhone and he did not know why with a very fake innocent face, which made his colleagues around him with very unbelievable and awkward face. I asked you guys no one use IPhone. He said sorry my English was not good. Just feel awkward too with such stupid lies. And said ah we can’t bring anyone else phone in the room. And asked me to check with some random lady on the street. Well. I will say it is ok to say I don’t wanna help you instead of making such stupid lie even make yourself look shamed. The fact is I found other guests were charging with their IPhone with the sockets in the store and so kind to help me for 15mins charging. Such service mind waiter especially in the tourist spot, it is not abt Starbucks to change CEO can boost the sales, it is just a failure of training staffs with proper service minds. Starbucks will be in...
Read moreThis Starbucks is in a terrible condition, it should be closed that’s how dirty it is, from the entrance to the deck/ bar, to the toilets.
I have travelled a lot and I’ve never ever seen this elsewhere. Especially for that price…
I asked for my mocha if I could have some cinnamon or cacao powder, the person came to me and took a cinnamon which was hidden next to the bar but also next to the toilets area. I said thank you and he went back to his place. I tried to take some of the cacao powder which was glued at the bottom of the empty little bottle, he saw me struggle and never offered some cacao, he just watched.
The bar area where they leave your drinks was not cleaned, old drinks left there in addition to a lot of other used things from customers who apparently didn’t find the trash.
A lot of persons were working there which didn’t seem really really busy and not one cleaned that area during the time we were there.
I’m not even mentioning the toilets…
We left and said - to the person who helped with the cinnamon and watched struggling with the cacao without helping - bye and that I’ve never seen a place in such a bad condition, he...
