Arabian Taste is a diamond in the rough. Do not be fooled by what looks like a standard UK kebab shop. This is a top tier dining experience. We went on a Saturday night, having been intrigued by the litany of excellent reviews on Google. The reviews were completely accurate.
The restaurant has some tasteful decor, and the service was polite and friendly - everything you could ask for in a dining experience. We ordered the Arabian Lamb and the Mixed Doner. Where to begin...
The chips - hot, fresh, and seasoned with a delicious spice mix.
The portion size - perfect for someone hungry after a day exploring fjords, but not too much food: A mistake some kebab shops in the UK make.
The lamb - It was the best lamb kebab meat I've ever had; it embarrassed almost all UK kebab shops. It was light, fluffy, and delicate, whilst still being moist and tender. It lacked a 'greasy kebab shop' texture - something most UK kebab shops fails to do.
The meals were also a good value for two people, which was a bonus in a city like Reykjavik, where dining out can be a pricey affair.
If I had to find a weakness here, the décor was a bit underwhelming, and a light refresh would do wonders for the ambiance when dining in the restaurant.
In summary, eat at Arabian Taste. You won't regret it, and you won't find a better...
Read moreABSOLUTELY amazing. We arrived kinda late to our hotel and like most of the restaurant on Iceland they all close very early so not much options. I google restaurants open nearby open now I found this restaurant. For my surprise even though they were about to close in 1 hour the place was PACKED, always a good sign for good food. The majority of the restaurants usually when they are about to close staff seems a little be upset or less friendly since for obvious reason they about to close and they tired but this rest staff were super friendly and didn't mind people keeps coming in even 10-15 min before closing. A male cashier asked me something and since spanish it's my first language for some reason I was about to answer him in spanish by mistake but for my surprise the gentleman smiled and answered me Yo se un poco de espanol (I know some so spanish) That was so cute and nice, despite been with so much pressure of getting food out quick he had a time to joke and even smile. Now let's talk about the food. I got the chicken shawarma plate and my husband the fish delight plate and let me tell you it was DELICIOUS, my husband didn't even leave nothing on the to go container, it was absolutely yummy. This is 100000 % recommended restaurant. Please stop by while...
Read moreMy visit to Arabian Taste Restaurant in Reykjavik was an absolute delight, and it exceeded my expectations for Middle Eastern cuisine in Iceland. The restaurant's warm and inviting ambiance immediately set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The attention to detail in the decor, combined with subtle Arabic music in the background, created a pleasant and authentic atmosphere.
The menu boasted a diverse array of dishes, and I opted for a mix of traditional Middle Eastern flavors. The hummus and falafel were exceptional, offering a perfect balance of textures and spices. The lamb kebabs were tender and flavorful, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and expert preparation.
The staff at Arabian Taste were not only attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation of each dish was visually appealing.
Overall, Arabian Taste Restaurant in Reykjavik left a lasting impression on me. If you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or looking to explore new flavors in Iceland, this restaurant is a must-visit. I left with a satisfied palate and a genuine appreciation for the culinary journey this...
