I have always been fond of Glen’s Bakehouse for their delicious desserts, especially their mini cupcake ranges. I have been visiting different branches of Glen’s to experience their tasteful dishes.
This time it’s Lavelle Road branch, the ambiance is typical Glen’s signature style. It offers both indoor and outdoor dining. But hosts fewer number of tables compared to other branches.
I was attended by Mr.Uttam, who made sure that I was comfortable and took my order. As usual I ordered my favourite mini cupcakes from vegetarian section, one each in the available flavours. And a white chocolate lavendraberry mousse cake. The restaurant was quite empty, hence I got my order within few minutes.
The mini cupcakes looked delicious, a red velvet and rest three are different variations of chocolate flavour- cheese, hazelnut and pure chocolate. The chocolate flavoured cakes are as usual dry because of chocolate’s property which is quite fine, but surprisingly even the red velvet was dry, it lacked moisture and didn’t taste fresh.
The lavendraberry looked beautiful with its ivory and blue icing with layers of white and purple. Unfortunately the looks didn’t match the taste. The crust was too hard it was difficult to even slice. The white chocolate flavour was over-powering (I know it’s white chocolate pastry, but still…)and the blueberry flavour didn’t go well along with the white chocolate. It was too creamy and sweet. A neutral or subtle vanilla layer could have been introduced between the layers to balance the overall dish.
Had a good time, hope to have a great time during my next visit.
PS: also the Wi-Fi facility isn’t available, so it would be difficult if you are planning to attend few office...

Read moreGlens bakehouse on lavelle road is a place which always gets the best vote in bangalore for a good and famous place.
Ambience - It has a very cool ambience and when you enter the place you can smell the freshly baked cookies and cakes and also this is a cafe where the house is converted into a cafe.
Food - The most exciting food I will start with the famous red velvet cupcakes which has a smooth red velvet texture and a bit of sour cream on top of it which makes it the best in taste in bangalore. Then I always order the mushroom quiche which has a unique blend of mushroom and quiche and it is heaven eating it. Then comes the pizzas where I have Tasted every pizza here and in vegetarian I love the panner goes Mexican and for the non vegetarians it is the Andhra style hot hot where all the pizzas are wood fired and they have an in-house brick oven which gives more smoked taste to the pizzas. The lasagne is another dish which has layered lasagne noodles with a lot of cheese and this dish is of a kind and also one of the best in town. I have also tried the pot pie but it didnt taste that good and also It took them a while for them to cook.
Parking - Difficult to get parking place.
