Kindly observe the following points minutely and you will understand the reason for poor rating.
Price on one side with quality and quantity of food on the other side. They charge hefty amount even for the basic food. A veg thali with normal dal, bhaji, one sabji and chatni costs Rs. 120. Same goes with fried rice (Rs. 140-180) and biryani (Rs. 140). Considering the price, the quantity served is of a proper quater plate. Moreover, they prepare the fried rice and biryani in normal grain rice, not with long grain.
Each and every preparation of food items are different here. You can taste more or less similarly flavoured chilli chicken, chilly fish, fried rice, fish kabiraji or whatever it might be throughout India. But you will surely get to see a different preparation and get to taste a altogether different dish here. The owner and the waiters will insist that the preparation is like that only. Under any means they wont accept their wrong doing and lack of knowledge.
Overuse of tomato sauce and green chilli sauce in almost each and every preparation.
The waiters eagerly wait to pounce over and grab the change amount rather than returning it to the customer.
Carefully observe how the owner or whoever it is (the person who sits in the cash counter), tries to lure and persuade customers in taking salad and pressurizes them in nodding a yes. He would casually tell take the salad, it is from the restaurant, it is just like that, etc etc. Once a customer falls into the trap and replies with a 'yes', observe the slight grin on his face. With serving two pieces of carrot, four to five pieces of cucumber and few pieces of onion rings, an amount of Rs. 40 is added to the bill.
Please, its my earnest request to all, dont step inside this filthy places. It cant be called a cabin in the simplest of terms. You definitely will lose your temper, your mood and your appetite for sure. Complimentarily, you will end with losing your hard...
Read moreFood is unnecessarily expensive given the quality of food provided. Chicken biriyani was priced at 160/- but the quality was that of a 100/- biriyani at max. Staff behaviour is good, service quite fast. But there is a catch .......... They gave me biriyani but after they gave me the biriyani, they brought one small plate of salad in front of my biriyani plate, asking whether I need salad or not. Given it costs 160/- i thought that little salad was included ( had like 5 slices of cucumber, 1 slice of onion, 2 chillis, 1 carrot slice) plus they were bringing it to everyone that had to everyone who had biriyani. I said yes, later, when I went to pay, the cashier told me it costs 30/- .
He also was very reluctant and telling me to hurry up at first when I asked why I am I being charged 30/- extra. His sudden change in attitude showed that he was SCAMMING. Service was good at first but because of this...
Read moreWe ordered a Mughlai paratha priced at 100 Rs, but it was disappointing. It lacked stuffing and was flat like a regular paratha. It felt like a waste of both money and flavor. Please note: If you are feeling hungry, consider having some biscuits and avoid New Chowringhee Cabin, especially if you are a true...
