Koyla - Ethnic Cuisine — Restaurant in Mumbai

The restaurant is located a stone throwaway from the Radio club at Apollo Bunder and thus one cannot ask for a better locality. There is valet parking available thus you need not fret to find a parking. The restaurant is located on the terrace and reaching there from the ground floor can be tricky. Firstly the elevator can accommodate only 4 person including the liftman. Once you exit on to the 4th floor you will have to climb 2 more floors on a twisting staircase which can be tough for aged and with folks with mobility issues. So please keep that in mind.

But once you push open the door and set foot on the restaurant it would make you pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the restaurant. There are lot of small shamiyanas under which tables are placed. Also for larger groups there are tables on the floor to sit and enjoy your meal. The extra advantage is the view of the Taj Mahal Palace tomb from your seat, especially when it’s illuminated in the night

As we got seated we ordered Kalmi kebab and a Mushroom kebab. Unfortunately the ordered of ours got changed with some other table and we were provided Kakori kebab and Hara bhara kebab. We ate the Kakori and then realised the mistake. The staff were apologetic and did their best to change the other dish. We ordered 1 Misi Roti, 1 Roomali roti and a sabzi of mixed vegetables. The taste of the food were excellent and the quantity sufficient. The value for money was optimum too. The behaviour of the staff was courteous and warm too

Good ambience, good food, lovely view....only the staff not so good, had a bit of an incident on the New year's night...called up for reservations, they said its walk in thing, not taking reservations on calls, after reaching there we saw a list of reservations already there, and they liked that, they have booked it way earlier, it wasn't taken on the same day, after waiting for 1and half hour, which is kinda expected for such restaurants and that too on a new year's Eve, we came to know that they have cover charges..as per the management they had informed everyone, but the entire crowd in the waiting list denied it, including me,..I had called them twice before reaching there but no such information was given to me..I'm not against it, the only thing is they shouldn't be keeping it a secret...some guy came to the waiting desk said he was asked to pay for the cover charges after completing his meal and that too in a hush hush way, like nobody should hear it...the point was, if you are charging, be confident and don't behave like you are doing something wrong...after fighting with the manager, we didn't have to pay for the cover charges... Apart from that, we were given a table which had no roof, no decorations as such, it was in open and the view that we got was a restroom door on my right and on the left there were a group of girls on the other table, which in a regular days wouldn't happen, I would have got a better table but I had to take that one since my mom couldn't wait any longer, and no other tables were available due to the long...

We have visited koyla on 19th march 2022, Saturday night with our prof. Koyla resturant is a rooftop resturant beside mezban resturant and top of gulf resturant near gateway. You can't find koyla resturant very easily because around road you will not find any advertisements. Due to rooftop or tarrace resturant it is stated from evening 7pm. Ambiance and decoration of this resturant is very good, there are many types of sitting place, like nornal chair, sofa, there are part for candel night dinner, some part good decorated for couple some part good decorated for families. There is a part of the resturant from where you can get sea view. Top of the Taj hotel looks very gorgeous from this rooftop. We arrived at around 7:50pm. We were 13 people, we have at first ordered nimbu soup that was quite good, chicken platter, some naan, resmi paratha, some chicken and mutton main course. Some roti made of atta was quite good but some which is made of maida you can't eat very easily it feels we are eating rubber because air flow on the rooftop it become very hard to eat. Other food are quite good. I have ordered berry blast as all other recommended in reviews, Which is very thick juice and quite high quality desert. We have most largest problem is behavior of waiters They can't respect our prof, they don't know what and when to serve. They even don't willing to take payment. Due to their behavior, we even asked our prof not to give service charge and tips. Rs 20 Water bottle cost is 100 which was quite shocking. All other things are quite good we have...
