I stayed here in July 2014. I came here after spending one night in another guesthouse in Ubud, which I did NOT like. I definitely liked this place much better. I was traveling solo and it was comfortable and inviting. You can also get free breakfast every morning during your stay. ||By no means was this the perfect room. The bathroom was even a little iffy to me and I showered with slippers on, but it was way better than the first place I was at! There were holes in the door, as you can see in my photos, but I fixed that by putting a sarong over the door for some privacy and to somewhat help keep bugs out. There was a gecko who came in every night from somewhere above the sink or bathroom area but it didn't really bother me and kept to itself. The bed was fine, the staff was nice, and it's a short walk to a convenience store for water and snacks. It was also not too far of a walk to the main area in Ubud. I would stay here again if I had to. The price was very reasonable and if you go in knowing what you're getting I think it's a good...
Read moreI've had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at the Rico Amerta. The staff are lovely, you get a breakfast daily (either banana pancakes & coffee or eggs, toast & coffee) and the rice field views are very pleasant. The guesthouse is at the bottom of Bisma Road, which is great if you want to get to the Monkey Forest but a bit of a walk to get to Ubud Palace & the Art Market. If you walk through to Monkey Forest Road there are usually taxis available, so transport is never a problem. The standard charge seems to be 50,000 wherever you want to go within Ubud town!||The guesthouse is clean, the staff are friendly & the rice terrace views, from breakfast on your balcony, are lovely! My only complaint would be that when the door to the room is closed with the padlock it leaves a 2cm gap! I stopped in an air conditioned room, and didn't have a problem with mosquitos, but you may get mosquitos coming in through the gap in the door!||The guesthouse also do laundry at 10,000 a kg & can organise a driver for day trips at 500,000...
Read moreI booked this place through Agoda. I needed a place for one night. On Agoda this place has a 7.8 star rating but when I arrived at location I thought I am in the wrong place. It was just me and one employee. After realising I can sleep in the room he gave me, I decided to check other rooms, because I could risk to loose the money I paid for accommodation. The whole hotel is full of mold. Each room I looked at has mold on the walls, on the bed, fan, pillows, and in the bathroom. And just one room in the whole hotel has an air con. No WiFi is available. So yeah, the situation is totally different in reality than what is presented on Agoda or Booking.com. I posted this review because I want others to be aware of the actual situation at Teba House, and to avoid stress and anxiety during their trip in town. Especially if it happens to come during the evening when it is more difficult to find another accommodation. And of course, avoid this place if you care about...
