Had my wedding anniversary dinner here. As an Italian food lover, here's my review: Food & drinks: Amazing. My wife and I had: Complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar: Comes for free as with most Italian restaurants. The bread was rustic, tasty and filling. We only managed to eat 3 slices out of 6. The oil and vinegar also tastes good. Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Chicken: The taste is nice. Pasta was al dente, I can taste the garlic and olive oil and I can tell that the spaghetti is good quality. However, it's a bit too spicy for me. My wife ordered it spicy because she likes it hot. Lasagna: This one's special and I recommend this! Big portion. Lots of ragu and it is very meaty and flavorful. The Fontina cheese was perfectly melted so the texture was creamy instead of chewy. My wife eventually traded her spaghetti for my lasagna. I had Lasagnas around the world and this is definitely one of the best. 300 gr Picanha: Grilled to perfection. Pink all across and no grey bands. Nice charcoal flavor and dark brown sear outside. The meat is of good quality - tender and beefy. Served with flaky salt, lemon and arugula, which sounds simple, but really pops out the flavor of the beef, which is very Italian. Tiramisu: Served in a decently deep bowl. It's tiramisu done well. But I don't think it has any liquor like rum / kahlua / amaretto (maybe to play it safe for Muslim diners) which will take it up a notch. The cream didn't taste like it had Mascarpone and egg yolks either. Aperol Spritz: Got 1 more for free because it's apparently happy hour. It's great and I love it. Good mixture of the Aperol and Prosecco. Even my wife who can't drink alcohol because it's bitter, loves it. Give me a whole gallon of this, please! Coco Dragon: Good coconut flavor but can't really taste the dragonfruit flavor. Just ok. Imagine Es Kelapa but with dragonfruit juice added.
Service: Excellent. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. Took good pictures of us celebrating the occasion. Food came out quick. There's just this one other waiter who kinda wants to get our plates out of the way despite us still eating. But overall it's excellent.
Atmosphere: It has this charm of a classic Italian bar + trattoria. Lots of bottles of liquor and wine displayed on the glass walls as decor which looks beautiful. Even the toilet looks classic. One slight downside is that the choice of upbeat, club music, in my opinion, doesn't suit the vibe. It's better to play something classic, Italian, or old jazz tunes to match the atmosphere of the establishment.
Overall, my experience was excellent and it's worth coming back again. The downsides were all very minor to affect my review. The price is quite expensive, but for the location, cuisine and quality, it's very reasonable. Other places in the area would charge for a similar price or even more. I...
Read moreThis is my second time. My first time was nice, I only had drinks. But this time, everything was so chaotic. I was welcomed by a host that didn't even smile and looked underestimating. Then they got my orders wrong twice. We ordered one package of the buy one get one positano, and received two packages instead which we have to pay full price. If this is upselling then it's not the correct way to do it hahaha. Then we ordered three pastas, two with cheese wheel and one without. I got three of them with the cheese wheel. Thank god I didn't have to pay for their mistake this time.
No staff were smiling and welcoming except for this one woman whom was very nice and warm. She was kind. Everything else was meh.
Even when we tried to order, nobody noticed our presence. Until the bartenders got out of the bar and assisted us. What a shame. For this kind of price (which we can afford, by the way), we deserve way better services. We may dress simply with no louis vuitton or GUCCI, but we definitely can afford the meals. Do we have to bring our sugar daddy to be served well, or even our Tesla stopping by in front of the outdoor section to be welcomed like the lady that came after us?
The food was also mediocre, the best part was the peach...
Read moreI always look forward to coming here when I'm in Jakarta and today it was a complete disappointment.
The server blamed the shortcomings on a new staff but the fact is that it really hurt the reputation of this restaurant. Normally appetizers are served first and then main courses. We were served appetisers for two people and at the same time the main course was served to two other people. So when the remaining 2 main courses were served, the other 2 at the table sat and watched us eat.
Also the calamari and truffle fries order never arrived.
Hair in the clams ended it for us.
Complete disaster today. Bad service, blamed put on the new server, very unprofessional. Don't blame your staff and make them the scapegoat for a bad manager. And you send the poor guy back to our table to apologise. Terrible management. It should be the manager taking responsibility. Won't be back again and we dine at all your group restaurants. 3 already in the...
