I recently had the opportunity to dine at Queen's Tandoor, and I was very impressed with the food and service. I started my meal with the tandoori chicken, which was perfectly cooked and juicy. For my main course, I had the butter chicken, which was also delicious. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was creamy and rich.
I finished my meal with the gulab jamun, which is a traditional Indian dessert made with milk solids and rose water. The gulab jamun was sweet and refreshing, and it was the perfect way to end my meal.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Queen's Tandoor. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was elegant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Indian meal in Jakarta.

Read morePathetic, over hyped, bad service restaurant! I don't get the hype of this place the food is average at best. Service is terrible! I went on Monday, around 8:30pm. I ordered Chicken Handi and two tandoori roti with mineral water. I asked if I could order Papadam. My server said its complimentary and he will bring it out. The restaurant was practically empty maybe 5 tables were occupied. Anyways after waiting for what seemed forever he finally brought out the off tasting Papadum. They tasted so bad I had to ask the server of they were veg or Seafood Papdum. The chutney and out of a jar mango chutney were below average. Finally I finished the Papadum as I was very hungry. My server was too busy roaming around doing absolutely nothing. Then a female server brought me my food. I was surprised to see a creamy gravy based item. I had ordered Chicken Handi. I tasted the food and discovered they brought me Paneer item not Chicken Handi! Such incompetene in a discustingly over priced rubbish restaurant. I called over my server and asked him what he brought he was shocked to see it was Paneer and not Chicken. The Paneer also wasn't anything special. I was pretty upset by that point. Bad service and can't even get a simple order correct. I would have been understanding if the place was busy. That was definitely not the case. This restaurant is nothing but hype! The food is nothing special. Its at best a average Indian restaurant in a flashy building. I don't recommend this place goto Udupi Restaurant instead. It's not flashy but it's good. Not this pretentious nonsense with fake reviews! Finally, train your staff to be more customer focused. I had to call my server over as he was not paying attention to...
Read moreThe first Indian restaurant in Jakarta, and still my benchmark for all Indian food in Indonesia. Everyone must look at this place as a reference point. I've been a patron for years but only now I manage to write about this place.
Located in the basement of Plaza Index building, which is easily accessible from the Bundaran HI MRT exit, it was a humble place without over fancy decoration. The price is a bit on the high side of course, but I'll come to terms with it.
I ordered: Mutton Rogan Josh ( IDR 160K) This is THE CURRY. So deep in the abyss of flavour, with mutton that is so tender it falls apart. So so delicious and comes with several sizable chunks of mutton. Chicken Tikka (IDR 125K) These chicken meat are just so tender and rich with the distinctive tikka flavour. Must order. Chicken Muslim Biryani (IDR 140K) This biryani is so good and comes in a big portion, with lots of chicken meat put in and smothered with sauce. Dabbawala Mutton Set (IDR 145K) Comes in tin bowls like the delivery box in India. You can try a bit of everything here.
These are their forte. If strong indian spices and deep flavors are your preference, with these menu choices above you just cannot go wrong. The place usually is not too busy, so reservation is rarely needed. They also have 2 private rooms you can reserve for more secluded settings. Give them considerable time to prepare the food, 20-30 minutes, so this is not a quick order and grab kind of place. But your waiting will...
